I was famous for a while :)
When I fisrt came to Oz in the 80's I joined a band who were advertising for a Bass player with vocals, I went to an audition and got the gig.
During the first few weeks I discovered they were quite big in Oz during the 70's having a few hits, but coming from the UK Id never heard of them.
So after gigs at clubs we would get loads of 40 odd year old women coming to us for autographs, they just assumed I was an original member :)
As a footnote Id add that when I got here in the 80's I loved the music scene, loads of very good guitar bands like The Angels, Divinyls, Icehouse and Cold Chisel were big but not known overseas, so different to the music scene in England at that time.

Literally bumped into Nasri's ex-girlfriend Anara Atanes outside the Eithad with Nasri alongside.
Roberto Martinez at Manchester Airport (before 2013 thank fuck)
Sat on the same train carriage as De Gea and the bloke who plays David in Corrie, on the same day.

Nicky Lockett. Used to see him knocking about round Rusholme and Fallowfield quite a bit. Always had a leather coat on.

After the '81 cup final, we went to the strand with Leicester Rugby supporters branch drinking. Ended up at the bar talking to Bill Beaumont and Andy Ripley,
They'd done a runner from a shit show that they'd gone to see, as part of the Lions squad.
