The Titanic

Can no thread stay clear of political shite on this forum? In the real world, anyone who brings up politics in conversation within my group of mates gets called a boring **** and is told to fuck off.
Im away with the lads this weekend. If at any point someone started talking about politics at any point we’d actually think he was having some sort of breakdown

A human body surface area is about 3000 square inches. The pressure applied at 3800m depth would be around 5400 pounds per square inch. That’s the equivalent of over 7000 tons applied to the body. Like dropping the weight of a small cargo ship on to someone.
Or around x2 Luke Shaws?

Actually Luke Shaw would have had a lot more than 7,000 tons applied to him, he's got a lot more surface area.
The fat ****.
Mind you, with him on board for ballast, they'd probably have hit the ocean floor hard enough to render the whole question moot.

As a cricket fan it’s just occurred to me the two disasters of the Titanic and Titan were 111 years apart, a number that in cricket is respected, it’s the stumps without bails and called the “Nelson” incorrectly referring to Lord Nelson losing a leg, arm and eye. David Shepard, an umpire, used to stand on one leg when the score was either 111 or the multiple of that number, eg, 222, 333.

Ironically, one of the passengers on the ill-fated Titan took a copy of Wisden with him to read on the outward journey.
