The Titanic

Too damn right, that's like someone saying that they had no sympathy for the 257 people (20 were crew) who died on board the DC-10 in 1979 in the Antarctic. All those people wanted to see was a once in a lifetime sight and have an adventure, but someone at Air New Zealand changed the flight co-ordinates without informing the pilots, only to end up flying into a mountain known as Mt Erebus, when they thought they were flying over McCurdo Sound. The video taken by a passenger of people walking round the plane having drinks and taking photos out of the windows 5-10 minutes before impact is one of the most errie and heartbreaking things I've ever seen. There is even video footage that is slown down of the explosion and flames, before what looks like jet oil on the windows.

As for hoping those people on the Titanic sub having a quick and unexpected death, I hope it was too, what a horrible and tragic way to go. It was the same for those on flight 901, they were all happy unaware of what was going on within the flight deck. I hope they went into some sort of black out period, meaning they wouldn't have felt any pain. They're not going to make it, I just cannot see it happening:(.

RIP to both parties.

Watched this during lockdown on Amazon Prime on the Mt Erebus disaster. An interesting watch.

Ex-employee fired for expressing safety concerns regarding capsule

I’ve been reading stuff like this all day and I can’t wrap my head around it. How can somebody bring this information to light publicly and the whole thing just get settled out of court and the business allowed to continue? Without any kind of intervention by government bodies or regulators?

“Oh, your submersible is almost certain to kill your passengers but as long as you’ve paid off the guy who inspected it then it’s not a problem.”

I know they don’t like regulation in the US but this seems absurd.
