The Titanic

These poor guys are fucked and probably already dead in my thoughts on this horrendous story

This is an untethered submersible, inherrently more dangerous due to the communication issue. No radio or gps etc at the depths operate at, just pings with basic sms text. I know it has starlink but to what depth it will work at i don't know personally. The vessel had 4 days air and a co2 scrubber and backup scrubbers. They have scuba tanks under the floor to. They did not take much water though and i don't think it has much emergency rations if any.

It has redundant systems in case of power failure, airbags, thruster propellers to take them up, detachable weights to and some others but i am not sure on those. Another issue is no other vessel can get to the depths this submersible could be at in the short time frame they have, if any even exist that are capable of performing a rescue.

The most likely explanation now is sadly a leak and instant implosion. Conjecture of course, they could be tangled in a ghost net for example or something like that. If that is the case we just won't find them in time or at all.

A grim outlook unfortunately, i hope im wrong.

Submarines scare the shit out of me. Even as a kid I remember thinking they freaked me out.

I’d rather go to space than get in a submarine.
I used to build them (was a welder in the shipyard on the Tridents) and all the little compartments etc used to creep me out. There was one area called The Cofferdam where you could get lost very easily! one bloke went in there and topped himself on the night shift. Took days to find him…
