Don't these sort of things have cables attached to the ship?

Given the Titanic is over 2 miles down, i'd be very surprised if they did.

Titanic itself? No chance, it’s slowly falling in on itself due to the degradation of the steel, even if it were technically possible at 2 miles depth, if they tried to raise it, it would just disintegrate.

If you’re going to go missing, 12000 feet under the Atlantic isn’t generally an easy find.

What ghouls would want to see it in the first place?

People diving to see sunken wrecks isn’t ghoulish. And The Titaniic will surely rank as one close to the top of most wrecks in terms of history/ importance / interest.
Its depth and location also make it a rare “find”.

Was at the Titanic exhibition in Belfast over the weekend, very highly recommended.

Apart from Pubs, there's not a lot else to see tbh.

I think the thought that this was the beginning of the end for much of the Edwardian era is part of its ability to enthral.

The grandeur of that ship and the class connotations are intermingled with the thoughts of those who perished, and the ones that got away (Ismay springs to mind).

It really WAS a watershed in the divide between two different worlds.

Good Point -that and WW1 shortly to follow were a turning point in the history of the UK

I’m claustrophobic and the thought of being in that submersible scares me. Not to mention, the slightest crack and it ends up like a Coke can after being stamped on.

If and when they bring it up, it’ll have to be in sections. Didn’t they do that with the Mary Rose? I went on a trip to see it with Brownies and it was incredible seeing just how huge it was.

There's also Ulster museum, Botanic gardens, city hall or Crumlin road jail
