It wasn’t that they were rich people it was the fact that they could’ve been alive deep down at the bottom of the ocean and a rescue operation meant an opportunity to rubber neck. If a migrant boat turned upside down a la Poseidon Adventure there would’ve been wall to wall TV coverage

You honestly think if there'd of been half of dozen migrants in some sort of a similar scenario the same coverage would of taken place?
 
Not sure if already said, but apparently the ship was constructed from carbon fibre which the experts say is not suitable for such deep depths and why the safety bodies would not sign off on it !
