I’ve said all season that Chelsea are the team I fear as I think that this Liverpool team is on its last legs.

They’ve had a prolonged blip but they’re a top quality team and if they really are out of their slump and Lukaku fires up they could go on a long winning run. A 6 point lead is nice but one or two draws and we’re right back in a dog fight - if we’re still 6 clear after we’ve played them I’ll be more confident.

I`m hoping that City give me a wonderful 71st birthday treat on New Years Day, with a win over the Gooners that could see us with a 12 point lead.
Pretty please City ... just start with a win at Brentford later today.
I hope they can win the title for you. We can beat both Brentford and Arsenal and then let’s just keep winning.

We can afford to lose 10 points and still win with a good margin. Most likely between 85 to 89 will do it.

You can currently get 19/2 on Liverpool or 33/2 on Chelsea winning the league.

I think if we were in their position, the bookies would still have us as favourites.

The schedulers tried to handicap us at the start of the season. Mainly top 6 sides away from home in first set of games.
We have a revisit of those fixtures coming up but mainly at home. Ironically our poorest performances have been at home.
We could well find this brings slitherpool and Chelsea back into the mix. But our closing run of fixtures are doable. If we are there or there abouts within the last few games we have a shout ...

The kick-off scheduling of the Brentford and Arsenal games was supposed to be the fix.

If we can win both, then we have a couple of weeks to recharge and keep our foot on the pedal.

Let's not forget it was a 12 point gap to Liverpool in January when we went on to win it.

A draw between Chelsea and Liverpool, and us beating Chelsea, and we can start to breathe a little easier.
