It is too much and pointless, given we play 3 (!) days later one of the most important games of the season. Liverpool struggled against Watford recently and won only 2:0, the 2nd goal late in the game. Watford are a PL team and not as poor as some on here seem to think. Disrespecting teams is the last thing we need now.

Watford were a PL team when we beat them 4-0, 8-0, 6-0, 6-0 and 5-0 in recent years as well.

The simple fact is that under Pep we have played them 10 times, won 10 times, scored 42 and conceded 4.

It’s not disrespectful to acknowledge we are a much better side and we should be looking at a game against the 3rd worst defence to close up the GD.

None of the results you are refering to came 3 days before a CL semi. Context matters. Numbers don't play on the pitch. And the past doesn't play, either. Any new game can be different. The big game is the game vs Real. Trying to beat Watford 5:0 if we lead 3:0 would be largely pointless, no need to risk injuries and fatigue.

Look at your arguments earlier in this thread when you were deriding posters saying the league wasn't done in January. Your current arguments are not much better. None of the reaults you are refering to came 3 days before a CL semi. Context matters.

Watford is the bigger game mate. We have to win in 90. We have 180 mins (at least) to beat Real.

We know what Pep is like, he will undoubtedly have planned for Real already. The team v Brighton to me suggests Sterling, Grealish and Jesus may come in against Watford to keep others fresh for Real. But I may well be completely wrong. Jesus and Sterling were both effective against Real last time we played them at home (Jesus was good in the first leg too).

Our possession based game means chances will come. At 3-0 we wont just pass it around the back. And when subs come on they'll want a goal to force themselves into Pep's plans.

We are arguing the same thing ultimately. We want the 3pts first and foremost. Personally I would be more confident for Real if I see a big win against Watford. But 3pts and no injuries is the main aim.

I remember Liverpool chasing the GD v Palace. 3-0 up and deciding go for it. Palace scored and Liverpool fell to pieces. Ended up 3-3. Worry about the GD if we have to.

I'm more hopeful Everton kick the shit out of them than take any points off them. Just want to see them flying in on the liverpool players so they know they've had a game.
We know there have been more red cars in Merseyside derbies than any other fixture, plus the odd really bad challenge / injury ... so fingers crossed.

But Everton's away form is shocking. Apparently no team in the history of the PL has taken a lower percentage of their points away from home, than Everton this season.
