Their form was so bad beforehand.

They have beaten a relegated Norwich and had three home games on the bounce against Wolves, Leicester and Palace.

At the start of this month they lost 5-1 to Spuds and also lost to Everton.

The biggest hope must still be Liverpool are weary from a tough game on Wednesday.

If the Geordies get all giddy and open up, Liverpool will be happy.

We will have to win all our games to win the title.

Newcastle have won more points per game than any club other than Liverpool since the start of the year.

You can’t put performance over 15 odd games down to playing easy opponents, they’re the 3rd best team in the league right now.

I believe the fixture list can and does afford teams that.

Watford (H), Leeds, Everton twice, Villa (H), West Ham, Brentford, Brighton (H), Southampton (A good result), Wolves (H), Leicester (H), Palace (H)

Chelsea and Spurs are the only top six sides and lost to both, albeit unlucky and robbed at Chelsea.

It's been a decent set of fixtures.

Liverpool will not drop 1 point

Nothing is certain.

Attach probabilities to any of their league games and calculate the overall probability of 5 wins. The latter won't be anywhere near 90 %, let alone 100 %. If we give them 85 % chance to win each of the remaining league games, then the overall chance for Liverpool to win all of them is under 50 %.

A Leeds win tonight would be great for us.
Not sure it would make that much difference.

5Live had a former Palace player (not sure who) on before the Brighton match. He reckoned that teams that are safe are more dangerous to City and Liverpool. They’ve no pressure, can play with a bit of freedom, and can get a huge kick from impacting on the title race, even if they don’t care who wins it. He played in Palace’s 3-3 with Liverpool in 2014 and described it as the highlight of his career even though there was nothing at stake for Palace. And you couldn’t say that Brighton put in less effort than Watford

If Leeds lose tonight they’ll be very nervy on Saturday.

If we had the media presence of other clubs that no penalty given against Liverpool would be repeated ad naseum until they concede one.

They are in great form but we given Newcastle some absolute top spankings in recent years, especially at home. They have nothing to play for but pride and i can't see them putting in much effort tbh.

The Newcastle players literally play for their future: those who don't perform well will be sold in the summer. Also, Newcastle will want to show they are becoming a force. They'll be motivated to get a result.
