I dont know how many wins we need now, maybe 8? The nice thing is that if we win our next 2 then we only need to draw at home to liddlepool. Meaning they will have to attack us, as they will be 6 pts behind with 7 more to play. That will suit City to a tee, opening up the spaces that normally happen with park the bus teams like Man Yoo. Still buzzing from yesterday. Excellent City. We are going for a 4th title in 5 years. Am i dreaming?
10.

Liverpool’s maximum points total is 96 points but with each point they drop that points total aim of 97 for us, obviously, drops.

As it stands we need 28 points to win the league - 9 wins + 1 draw.

Liverpool play 3 times and us twice before we play each other so if both teams win all their games, they'll only be 3 points behind us when we play them

Great to see there is nothing wrong with the Bluemoon maths. By the way a red at work kept saying to me...you look so tired...yes i replied. Tired of winning.

I've written off all of Liverpool's home games, they'll probably win them all. Spurs won't play like they did against us at Anfield and United will get the same as they got yesterday.
I'm looking at Villa away, Arsenal away and possibly even Southampton or Newcastle away as games where they might drop points.
Don't give Brighton much hope this weekend as they're in dire form. A few points dropped by Liverpool in one of the other games would be a bonus and take the pressure of the game when they come to the Etihad a bit. I really don't want that to be a shoot out/cup final with whoever wins it winning the title.

Incredible West Ham didn't score at least one on Saturday. They're getting all the luck these days the scousers

Couldn't agree more. Lot of faint hearted blues on here. This is the worst Liverpool have been for quite a while, imho. Very strong in the forwards but you cannot tell me that a midfield regularly featuring Henderson, Ox, Keita and Milner, with a defence to be got at by the better teams, is anything we should be worrying about.
And tomorrow isn't a 'must win' game - yes, it'd be great to win but we aren't at our best - that's yet to come this season. Hopefully we're winding up to hit that peak consistently very, very soon. We should be good enough to get the points tomorrow. If not, the Liverpool game is the 'must win' one.
All of Liverpool's are 'must win.' They were very lucky today against West Ham.

Putting Liverpool down is pointless. This is their best squad over the last 30 years. To say this is the worst Liverpool have been for quite a while is silly, given they were poor last season. They are not worse than they were in 19/20, they were very lucky to finish on 99 pts back then.

Instead of thinking that Liverpool are nothing special, better think that City are very special. If we win the title it won't be because Liverpool are not very good, but because we are extremely good.

Crazy to think we're 4 points better off than last season at this stage, 9 points better off than 19/20, 1 point better off than 18/19 and only 6 points behind 17/18 yet we're still in the middle of a real dogfight.

When the Dippers turn up they don't half run us like no-one else.

True they get gifted more wins then us to make it “closer”

I'm not putting Liverpool down, nor thinking that they are "nothing special." I'm saying it how I see it. I don't agree that this is Liverpool's best squad in 30 years. Collectively, they were better a couple of years ago. Anyway, it's all about opinions. Maybe you follow them more than me, so your knowledge is superior. I was simply making the point - before yesterday's masterclass - that too many fans are wetting their knickers about the scouse challenge.
They have strengthened up front in the last 2 years; they haven't strengthened at the back or in midfield. They still rely frequently on midfielders who are not much above average, and in both defence and midfield, they are not as good as they were before VVD's injury - imho.

They aren't as good collectively. Salah's had the half season of his life which has given them the opportunity to hang in there. Without that they'd be 20 points behind again.

It's whether their added depth and other players hitting form finally will carry them over the line.

Fabinho and Thiago could play for us. Thiago is not injury free, though, so that's a problem for them. But as other posters point out, they use their midfielders to defend rather than to attack. Their midfielders are probably better than ours in terms of defending.

I think we are better than them as a team because we concede fewer chances than them. I agree they haven't improved in defence, maybe they are a bit worse than they were prior to VVD's injury. But even with VVD they conceded 7 goals vs Villa and 4 before that at the Etihad (should have been 5). They weren't all that defensively wise already before VVD's injury. And the reason is a bit surprising: their forwards got a bit older and couldn't press as well as they did in 18/19 and the first half of 19/20. Their defensive problems start from the front, plus the risky playmaking role that TAA performs.

Still, they are a great side. But we are better.

Just looking at arsenals fixtures it’s unfortunate for us that the Liverpool game falls between Leicester and villa. It means Arsenal have 3 games in 6 days with Liverpool sandwiched in between.

16 30 kick off sunday v Leicester
20 00 Wednesday v Liverpool
12 30 saturday v villa

wonder if arsenal will decide to rotate for the Liverpool game so they are fresher for the 2 more winnable games

Very suspect schedule for them just to force their hand

You would expect some changes but Mikel might look to test his squad and tactics against Liverpool as part of his competitive nature.

That is a shit schedule though. I, like others, had thought Arsenal might be the game they struggled in but I didn't appreciate it was in a run of games like that. Not sure Arteta has much of a squad to shuffle the pack with though?

One curious thing I’ve noticed is that 9 games into the second round of fixtures we’ve been pretty symmetrical with our results.

Every team we beat first time round we’ve repeated the dose (united, Brentford, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Norwich & Leicester). The other fixtures are matched up as well, drew with Southampton first and second time around and of course lost to Spurs twice.
l
If that continues expect us to lose to Palace and draw with Liverpool and win the test It would see us on 94 points which would be Liverpool’s maximum as well.

As other s have said its the best Dipper team in their history , but its not as good as ours , we have a better keeper , defence and midfield ,but they have the better forwards , the April game is a game the Dippers cannot afford to lose so the pressure is all on them. If we get beat we will still be in with a good chance of the title , for that reason i dont think they come to our place with an all attack policy even ClubshopKlopp will realise if they press or play with a high line we are probably the only team to play round his gengen press and have the players to tear them a new arsehole..
Any team that achieves thirty league wins will also win the title 99% of the time.

Starting to wobble. Scraped it against Chelsea, West Ham, and Inter, twice.

Klopp burning the same players out as the games come thick and fast.

We just need to keep on winning. They will eventually slip up in the coming weeks as their fixtures pile up and the teams they play get harder.(bar United)

He has a squad bigger than ours
