Although kind of wild to think we could still do the treble with three wins and four draws!
win everton
win chelsea
draw brighton
draw brentford
draw madrid win pens
draw united win pens
draw ac/inter milan win on pens
2 wins 5 draws :) , not sure many would survive that on here though

anyway one game at a time everton is the biggest game of the season

We managed it last season, but for a 5minute spell at the end of the 2nd leg of the semi final. We had to win 6 of our last 7 games and we managed 6 wins and 1 draw. The season before we managed it to, winning the league and making the CL final. Competing in the CL is now winning one game. It was very hot in Madrid. Both teams struggled, but Everton played the day before us and we've got plenty of rest until Sunday's game.

Sometimes we're a lot better when we're in a rhythm of playing regularly and Pep has already rotated against Sheffield United and again against Leeds whilst De Bruyne missed the Fulham and West Ham games. We're in good shape. It's mental fatigue not physical that will cost us. If Pep was worried about us physically he wouldn't have kept the same team out there for 90mins.
Yep, and ultimately it's not tired legs but injuries that cost us last season. Walker in the semi-final, Dias completely out, Stones, Laporte and Ake all nursing various knocks with varying degrees of fitness. Apart from Ake, the "core" 16 or so players seem to fit and healthy.

As I’ve posted before I just think it’s nigh on impossible to win the league and compete for the champions league this season under these circumstances, something will have to give and I fear it will be the league.

Credit to Arsenal they will most probably get 90 points and I think we will just fall short due to fatigue.
Ok Nostradamus.

It’s not impossible at all , have you forgotten Liverpool won the quadruple last year

Yeah that did for us in the end. We also had Liverpool in the FA Cup semi final and a very difficult CL draw with Atletico and Real. There was no chance to rest players and the injuries made it a step too far in the end. But we got the job done in the league with Zin-Laporte-Ferny-Cancelo as the back 4 for a lot of the run in.

This time around we've been able to rest a lot of players against Sheffield United and rotate subsequently too. Against Leicester Pep went early with the 5 subs and got away with it (although he is unlikely to take the same risk again considering how the game changed). De Bruyne's had a good rest. Rodri managed to sit out the Leeds game as we had Lewis and Gundo in the middle.

The game is done. Recover. Then look at it like this - 3 big games to go and win. For now, think of that as your season. Go and beat Everton, then win the two at home. That's us in the CL final and on 88pts.

That might be enough. If it isn't then go and win one more game guys. And then the FA Cup and CL final need no motivation.

Yep, for want of a better way of framing it the knocks and injuries and disciplinaries and even the world cup have come at the right time, if such things exists, for the squad. It's as much luck as rotation, but Haaland got a mid-winter break, Foden is fit and ready because of his operation, Walker got his knob out and now looks like he can run a marathon with a point to prove, Dias and Stones have had a few weeks off at critical points and so on.

Just think the "you're tired, fuck you" is more true than ever for this squad. Any player that is really showing red on all the fitness reports can have a rest if needed, everyone else has no fucking excuse, and we just need to stay lucky with injuries. And even then Rodri remains the only one that really keeps me up night.

And totally agree about Everton and the two home games being the season. Win them and we don't even have to think about cup finals till we've lifted the PL, and we are in a very, very comfortable position going into the final stretch.
