How many points will be needed to win the league?

You'd post optimistic stuff even if we were 10 pts off the top.

We have a great squad, but most of the players have played too many games over the last 3 years or so, especially last season. They are humans, not machines.

I think we won't win 10 games in a row any time soon. We'll have some great performances followed by bad results. We are likely to improve after Christmas but we won't walk the league this season. Maybe it's going to be more difficult than last season.
The irony being, that the last time we were ~10 points off the top, we still won the league.

That's fine, you see it from a different point of view, and one that is hypothetical rather than based on anything that has happened in the past.

It's very odd to have your point of view given than we are 2 points off the top, having played just 8 games, whilst missing 3 or 4 very important players for large parts of the season so far.

Any yes, I'm normally optimistic about a team that has won the last 3 leagues, and has just won a treble, why wouldn't you be?

Think you could be pessimistic over title hopes if we were 10 points behind in March. These players love winning trophies and are relentless their pursuit of them. We have lost a big driver in that in Gundo and Mahrez plus also Kevin De Bruyne being out. Looking at the rest of the teams in the mix, I don’t see any other team as being equal to City when they are at their best. We aren’t facing anything like we did from Liverpool a few seasons back. Think it’s only complacency from City that beats us this season, no other teams.

Oh I don't know, think you're dismissing a very good dipper team. An attack of any Salah, Nunez, Jota, Diaz and Gakpo has a bit of potency to it. Their midfield has improved too. Their only weak point is TAA. Let's hope he stays at RB. Dippers and Tarquins will be our closest rivals with Geordies and Spurs outsiders.

They are a good team but I think they have had better teams in the past when you had the likes of Mane, Salah and Firminho pressing teams into mistakes. Their other strong point which was their attacking full backs, they have seemed to regressed a little. I watched them on Sunday and they didn’t play well at all apart from a few short bursts where they managed to get amongst the goals.

You don’t think they are weak at centre back? VVD is a pale shadow of what he was, Konate is average, Matip and Selena are shite

Every year people say we won't go on long winning runs, we will struggle, we are tired etc etc. Yet this manager and all the players, past and present, consistently prove the doubters wrong. The media, Stuart Pearce, and any other clown can place their bets on Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool now if they want, my money would only ever be on one team.

We didn't win many games in a row in 16/17 or in 19/20. It's not a given that we will win 10 or more games in a row every single season under Pep.

I argued with the pessimists last season who thought Arsenal were on course to 95+ pts. But some optimists are as bad as the pessimists who I predict will increase over the next month or so.

Personally, I think we will have great final months of the campaign. We won't win 10 league games in a row any time soon, though. In 4-5 months, maybe, not before January, though. Good thing is we can win the title this season without having a big winning run, as Arsenal and Liverpool are likely to drop many points. 86 pts win the league this season, imo. Also, I predict we won't win 90 pts, and no other team will do it.

I'm not sure why you keep repeating the 'we won't win 10 games in a row anytime soon' line, as I can't see anyone saying that.

My original post mentions that the a fit squad (minus Kev) is too good to not go on a good run in the next 10 games. I highly doubt we will win all 10 at this stage of the season, but that team is too good not to win a good 7 or 8 of them with perhaps a couple of draws or defeats lumped in.

However, there is only one team capable of winning 10 on the bounce.
