Agreed, the same YaYa that is the greatest African player to play in the Premier League. At his peak he was simply unplayable and 2013/14 season I’d say he was the best player on the planet. He is ridiculously underrated even by City fans due to the off-field issues but we should always remember he was simply the best.
A better argument Arsenal fans have is, who was better Viera or Yaya? Now that's an argument.

Look guys, we're on a City forum so you're obviously going to see things in a certain way. Although I really have to draw the line at Gareth Barry! Next someone's going to say Aguero was better than Thierry Henry!

Regardless, the main gist of what I'm trying to say is that the competition in the PL has gotten much stronger. City last season are better than City in 2012. And to win the title is more difficult - you had City win 11 in a row last season so you can say bottle all you want but does than not denigrate City's achievement of banging out all those wins in a row? Particularly when the supposed weaker teams in the PL are much stronger than ever before

Back on topic - we are going to win it. The signings have been top class and Kev getting a rest first half of the season will end up a bonus. We can get him superfit in the meantime. Alvarez will get more goals and Foden more minutes but the key is the defence. We look so solid.

I don’t see who is going to challenge us if we maintain our level from the last 3 seasons.

Liverpool might be back to their old level next year but don’t look like it this season.

Newcastle aren’t there yet.

Chelsea work in progress that optimistically will take months to gel.

United are shit.

Spurs will play attractive football and finish 6th.

Arsenal…I guess Rice makes them better but they haven’t looked amazing so far.

Honestly I think we’ll win this one at a canter and it’ll be 24/25 when we get beaten by one of Chelsea/Newcastle/Liverpool.

Barry was better than Granit Xhaka. Aguero being better than Henry wasn't in the argument. Barry knitted everything together he was so underrated.

People say you bottled it because Arsenal had the worst last 10 games of any club ever to go into the last 10 games in the top 4.

That’s more than bottling it, it’s a complete implosion as soon as the going got tough.

15 points dropped in 10 games!

I’m sure you don’t mind admitting that City last year were better than the overate Arsenal team that went unbeaten in the league

I see Barry vs Partey as the match up given their roles in those sides.

Anyway this took a path I wasn't intending and wasn't the point I was trying to make in the 1st place - also what's important is how the managers can get the most out of players anyway. Look at how Fergie got some pretty shit United sides across the line. If Pep was managing Arsenal last year and you guys had Arteta maybe the outcome might have been different, who knows.

I don't think that Arsenal team was overrated as it was a different era, and some of those players like Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires, Cole, Campbell etc would be highly desirable to Pep if they were available today.

But I do think last year's City team were better than that Arsenal invincibles side.

So you’d agree Aguero was a better player because he played in an era were the standard was much better ? Stronger competition in the PL as opposed to the two team league, stronger European competition, Henry is just another arsenal player who had to leave to win the prizes he desired, what happens if you don’t win the PL in the next two seasons? Because project Arteta will be over, what happens if you do win it but your top players want to win a CL like Phil foden ?
