Honestly think the biggest impact to Arsenal is that this year they’re in a title race from week one and the pressure of having to win every game weighs heavy. Last year we saw it in the last 10 games and this year it’s straight away. I don’t know if they’ve got the experience to navigate that pressure.

I see Barry vs Partey as the match up given their roles in those sides.

Anyway this took a path I wasn't intending and wasn't the point I was trying to make in the 1st place - also what's important is how the managers can get the most out of players anyway. Look at how Fergie got some pretty shit United sides across the line. If Pep was managing Arsenal last year and you guys had Arteta maybe the outcome might have been different, who knows.
Sorry Bridgeno1, it’s never, ever ‘Fergie’ when discussing the GPC.

I don't think that Arsenal team was overrated as it was a different era, and some of those players like Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires, Cole, Campbell etc would be highly desirable to Pep if they were available today.

But I do think last year's City team were better than that Arsenal invincibles side.

Well done, you`re on the 1st step of the journey to seeing the light, even if you`re not quite ready to admit it.

8-)

I see we've gained another fucking Arsenal fan who just wants to have a good old polite chat by insulting City club legends and telling us how good the Arsenal team is.

I do wonder what it tells us about their psychologies that we've never had this happen with Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester or United fans. Had about a dozen of them over the last twelve months.

Look guys, we're on a City forum so you're obviously going to see things in a certain way. Although I really have to draw the line at Gareth Barry! Next someone's going to say Aguero was better than Thierry Henry!

Regardless, the main gist of what I'm trying to say is that the competition in the PL has gotten much stronger. City last season are better than City in 2012. And to win the title is more difficult - you had City win 11 in a row last season so you can say bottle all you want but does than not denigrate City's achievement of banging out all those wins in a row? Particularly when the supposed weaker teams in the PL are much stronger than ever before
Barry was vital to the 11/12 title win. Him and De Jong were the rocks in midfield that allowed Yaya and Merlin to do their stuff. Every club needs that type of player.

tbh it just shows you how far they have fallen that even a mere hint of success overrides the two massive bottle jobs that arteta has overseen and has elevated these average players into some weird undeserved status with them

define better in regards to aguero vs henry, how do you objectify it?
Come on this can't be a question. Henry is widely regarded as the greatest PL player ever.

Aguero was a superb footballer, I was fortunate to see him play at the Emirates on several occasions and his movement off the ball was fantastic and his finishing was superb. Definitely in the top echelon of PL strikers alongside Kane, Van Nistelelrooy etc (but below Shearer and Haaland in my opinion). But Henry could win a game on his own though with explosive pace and dribbling technique. He was unplayable at times, just like Ronaldo was.

by who? by arsenal fans,, i dont think that is classed as widely regarded.

Let me edify this by not disputing that henry is a top top player and right up there with the best, but we all know that arsenal fans love a poll and routinely skew any online poll by massively voting their own players, but once again i ask the question how do you objectify that henry is absolutely a better player than aguero, because it seems to me that you're argument that he had explosive pace that could win games by himself and you arent wrong but that could be said of multiple players?

How do you judge a striker, it has to be by goals doesnt it?
