How many points will be needed to win the league?

We have conceded costly late goals against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Palace already this season. That’s 9 points squandered.

We may not be playing particularly well but it would suggest more of a concentration issue above all else.

It looks like it's over, the body language of the players says it more than the points on the table.

We lost this number of points (17) last season only in the 21st round, on February 5, after the away match against Tottenham.

this season, the trouble came much, much earlier

Still not worry at all. The main concern is how scared our defense looks. They lose all the important duels, they are not agressive, and they just make poor decisions.

THe opposition (with the exception of Aston Villa and Chelsea FH) has like 3-4 interesting chances (way less than the chances we produce), but they score way more often. In that sense, I am pretty relaxed. Eventually it will be back to normal just like every stat tends to do.

Top 4 and a big push for the Champs League with Haaland and KDB back. Don't think we have the right attitude and concentration for the prem this season but will be decent in 2 leg games.

But Arsenal was in way better form. So it doesn't matter. 6 points is still pretty manegable.

Body language last year was the same or worse after Brentford.

Hard to tell really. We need to change things. Walker is largely useless against average/poor teams. Can Akanji do better there? Lewis isn't at the required level to start games in the PL when we are supposed to chase down Liverpool and Arsenal. Bright talent, but we need more in that position right now. Alvarez has lost form.

Nothing is lost. But if we don't win at Everton, the task may become a bit too difficult even for City with KDB in there, plus he will need time to get to his best. The drop in form is not unexpected, time will tell whether we have it in us to win 4 in a row.

The big difference between us, Liverpool and Arsenal this season is that they are regularly scoring late goals to win games and we keep throwing leads away late on. The main contributing factors to this are wasting too many chances to kill opponents off and rarely having any game changing options on the bench to call upon.

I'm not writing us off with so many points still to play for but those are the sorts of teams you have to beat at home if you want to win the league especially when you're competing with two very good sides. We have of course had poor results in all of our title winning seasons under Pep but I honestly can't remember us letting a two goal lead slip at home against a team of that level when we were so dominant within the game.

We are badly missing De Bruyne's creativity and dominance in midfield but thankfully it sounds like he will be back soon. We just have to hope we're not too far behind by the time he gets up to speed.
