beat Brentford and Everton next week, thats all we need to do (next week). We did drop points in both of these fixtures last season.
if we get 6 points now we are only 5 points worse off than last season.

btw it still can be decided on GD so we better rack up some goals.

I agree that Spurs aren't good enough, but Arsenal absolutely are IMO.
As I said.

I'm not as thrilled as others about Liverpool dropping all three points, as I think Arsenal is stronger than them, and now they've got the wind at their backs. It will be a good race. That's for sure.

The result today was definitely the best for us. Would’ve been happy with a draw, but the Arsenal win is better. Still a long way to go in the title race, but the position we’re in given our form so far is a blessing. As always under Pep, feels like we might be hitting our stride just when it matters the most.

I've said many times on here that Liverpool aren't all that, I reckon City are conditioned to view them as the bona-fide challengers but the Dippers run on momentum and Arsenal will finish above them as Arsenal have a better 1st XI.

City are a different beast though. They are stronger than both. But thinking this was the best result tonight? No. I reckon that would have been a draw. I reckon the game vs Arsenal at the Etihad will be much more significant a match than many of you currently think it will be.

I was never worried about Arsenal last season, although I agree they are a really good team. I think they have improved this season, think they would prefer to chase then lead. However, I still consider Liverpool to be this seasons main threat. If they had won their toughest away game left without Salah it would have been HulUG

It’s hard to guess, but if they get a top class striker in, Mikel stays and Klopp leaves. There is a good chance these will 100% be our main rivals and we might be hoping for a Liverpool win in this fixture this year.

A title race with Liverpool will be tough, I’m hoping that if we can continue our run up to the Anfield game that they will drop some more points, giving us a buffer.

Tomorrow and Sat are HUGE, psychologically it would put a lot pressure on them if we win both and are on top with the same games played.

Any drop of points in those 2 games (despite Brentford being tough) will feel like a let off.

C’mon City!!

For one, from your posts you were inferring Haaland not starting for a while in case he disrupts us, not one game which is a bit different and not something I disagree with too strongly.
For two, Haaland isn’t a new player just joining up with a new team and trying to find his way. He’s tried, tested and successful.
I was born in 77. I might have missed out on Marsh signing but I’ve got plenty of experience (whatever the fuck that means) following city.
I was in my 30’s before I saw us lift a trophy and growing up in Manchester my formative years were spent up and down the leagues whilst utd were winning trebles.
Like I said. Nonsensical.
Erling won't start for a while.

He's not fully fit,not in prime condition and not in any sort of rhythm.

Thousands of others, myself included, have done the divisions, some of us during the early '60s.

Many of us also watched great City sides win domestic and European trophies in the 50s,60s & 70s.

I fully agree.....you're nonsensical

The state of Sky keep reminding the red goon audience that Brentford did the double over City last season, desperate stuff, one of those defeats was after the title was won anyway.
And the other one came after most of the squad had their bags packed for the World Cup.

STARTING a partly fit Erling, who has been injured for 9 weeks,in a game like this is unnecessary and unlike you, Pep won't do it !!

Erling will be introduced progressively as his fitness, condition and rhythm improves....and as the team needs him.

If this had happened with Rodney Marsh in March and April 1972 we'd probably have deservedly won the league.

The 'comparison' as you refer to it, is neither lazy, nonsensical nor point scoring.

The historical reflection is relevant but perhaps only to those of a certain vintage who have the benefit of experience.

How old are you ?
Not sure I agree with this. We have missed Haaland like mad and he will be straight I. The team when he’s ready - I suspect tomorrow.
