Serious question from a clearly ignorant Londoner. What's the reason for City's animosity towards Liverpool? I remember seeing a client in Manchester a few years ago during City's centurion season, he was a United fan and was adamant City had to win the league ahead of Liverpool. Fair enough I thought, historical rivalry between United and the victims and all that. Cab driver back to the station was a City fan, he was saying that he had some sympathy for United (Mourinho was manager then) and that he'd support United 100% over Liverpool.

So genuine question, is it just a Manchester vs Liverpool thing? I'd just assume United would be THE rivalry.

In London obviously teams are local rivals but basically every London team seems to hate Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal don't mind each other that much, West Ham hate Millwall, Chelsea have appalling fans but I'd cheer them in Europe against a European team but not against another PL side, I do like Brentford and Fulham and so on. But absolutely many fans in London would express a dislike for Liverpool, but that's based on their fanbase. There's no animosity towards Everton so it isn't a City of Liverpool thing.

The most vocal and visible Liverpool fans usually seem to be feral rats with no dignity, human decency or respect. They come across as whining, self-righteous gobshites with a victim complex and a huge chip on their shoulders. This attitude is generally mollycoddled by a sympathetic media that constantly arse-licks these dickheads and their history-obsessed club.

They constantly play up to the victims card, screeching for ‘justice’ at any perceived slight. Yet, they conveniently never mention Heysel and continue the ‘Munich’ taunts to Utd. No action was ever taken for their violent mob of tracksuit-clad goons vandalising the City coach. The whole club seems to think it has a right to be treated with respect yet almost every fan of theirs is a disrespectful scrote with attitude problems.

Basically, their city is a fucking slum and they’re all gobshite wankers.

I can honestly see another 100 point season incoming.

We look absolutely imperious with and without the ball, are stacked with lads who are brilliant footballers and hard as nails, and if we get in another midfielder, have a squad capable of going all the way on all fronts again.

There's not a single person in that dressing room who'll be recounting that night in Istanbul and telling themselves it's job done.

We are on the verge of total domination, if not already there.

OK cheers, so its the behaviour of the club and fans then. Pretty much the same reason a lot of us down south don't like Liverpool either. Appreciate the heads up.

These fans robbed & pillaged across Europe, it was never enough to win they have to try & dominate & conquer. Turn up in a European City & rob them silly then complain when the locals rise up.

Always the victim, never their fault.
Turn up with thousands of blags or force your way in but complain when genuine fans are locked out.

Always the victim, never their fault.

Sing about tragedies, from Munich, Shipman, Leeds fans stabbed & then lobby that any song highlighting tragedy’s should be illegal.

Always the victim, never their fault.

There are no other fans like them.

I think Opta have a table predictor, can't confirm whether it's better than 538, probably not, we were 90.2% to win the league before the season, we're now at 93.3%.
Not better. But it's .......the only one i know

I remember league cup 2014 being a good day out with mostly good humoured scousers. Then the mane and ederson incident made me think what a bunch of Muppets. But for me it all started with the coach attack in the champions league quarters coupled with their teams cheating and fan behaviour on the return leg. Then when we were in a title race the rivalry intensified and several other incidents followed

Nah march but if we are top after ten games with a 3/4 point lead the media angle will be it's done.
Seen it reported that the last time we won our opening 3 games was Pep's first season and we know how that ended. So let's all look on the bleak side of this start.

People always comment about how Europe will test the squads of other teams.

We will be the squad tested most this season!

Last few games we’ve looked like a team from the early 90s when teams only had two players on the bench because despite having nine on the bench, we simply aren’t bringing any more than the odd one of them on.

And it’s not like we’ve got a huge injury list. Only three were absent yesterday (Akanji, de Bruyne and Stones), so even adding them in would still see us with the smallest squad of players that will be used regularly for many years.
We need to get another signing in and get the likes of John Stones fit then the bench will look much stronger. Even last season we looked a little thin on the ground squad wise.

Bitterness and jealousy. Jealous of their history and bitter at their fans for being so loyal, so knowledgeable about the game and their sense of humour that no other fans possess.
