Money has never rolled in at a higher rate than when we’ve been dominating though.Because the money was still rolling in by the bucket load. Not the case with City - primarily a Club with a support base which is local to Manchester - dominating.
What we’ve done for the Premier League in terms of worldwide TV revenue makes Liverpool and United’s combined efforts over 40 years - even when considering the differences in what money was worth in both of their eras - pale into insignificance.
City are the biggest cash-cow the English football league (whether First Division or Premier League) has ever seen. Even in the 7 years since Pep came to us and we’ve won the title 5 times, worldwide TV revenue for each club has gone from £100m a season to the winners of the Prem, to £100m for the team who finish bottom and £160m for the winners.
We’ve had more frequent exciting title run-ins than Liverpool and United did, we’ve had more frequent exciting final days than Liverpool and United did… interest in English football has never been higher. That’s why the TV revenue is up at £4.896bn from 2022-25. That’s why attendances and stadium sizes have rocketed and why there are stadiums 1/8 full of worldwide nobodies paying hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds for tickets. There are worldwide PL fanboys everywhere, even at places like Brentford. All because of City!
