That way go 1-0 up whilst they're still 0-0 and things start to ramp up. It also adds a bit of jeopardy in terms of going for goals over just winning the game.

As I said you will find we normally have the best GD this year we don't and it might cost us. Now I am not that uptight about this, fair is fair, and as you say the last three seasons have been amazing. I have felt we might come up short this year for some time and if we do fair play to Arsenal. Two of our recent wins had nothing to do with being fresh but rather Real Madrid like miracles on the final day. Also if you check you will find that most years we win the league our GD is superior to our challengers. I do accept that any reckless pursuit of goals in a match can prove counter productive but in general it is a useful shield and one which can more often than not prove a deterent to those chasing you in a title race.
