If City get relegated because of 115, we’d piss the Championship. Another trophy for Pep. :-) And a trophy he’s never won before.
And at least we won't have to play Spurs!

I wrote the league off at the start of the season, when we didn’t recruit I had a feeling we would struggle unfortunately the loss of Rodri and subsequent other injuries have made us fall off a cliff. However I did say to my mate I think we would win the CL, they are one off games and just look at the Sporting game, if we convert our chances in the first 30 we would be out of sight, a bit like the Spurs game yesterday, Erling could’ve had a hat trick before they scored. Top 4 and a cup would be a good season now, winning 5 in a row was always going to be a huge ask, but there needs to be whole sale changes next year and that’s about 5 players and possibly a different style.

We badly need genuine pace in midfield - and at the back with Walker declining. Either that or we stop playing such a high defensive line.

Look at the posts after Rodri's injury and you can see many couldn't realise his importance. This is partly due to English media that couldn't appreciate him properly. They haven't seen a player like that in England, one who can complete 100 passes per game, stop many attacks, create chances and score vital goals.

Once most of the injured players are back, we'll be good enough to make the top 4. Some of the younger players will have to play like the best in the world in their positions for us to compete for big trophies this season. Not impossible and hopefully not unlikely.

It's gone for 24/25.

Big rebuild required. We have flogged the same players to death over the last 3 or 4 seasons. And now it shows. We lamented Klopp for doing the same and we have copied him!

Walker
Gundo
Bernie
Kev

Are All showing their age now. It's painful to watch.

Rico
Sav
Doku

Young but clueless. Not at the level required for us.

And the happy clappers can keep banging on about previous seasons and we've been here before, and we will all be eating humble pie come May! - Can they not see that this season we see been absolute tosh for most of it? Even in games that we have won.

It's not about being pessimistic it's about seeing what is happening right in front of our eyes week in week out.

And the supporters that polish the "you should have seen us in the 90s" comment. Yes we was shit in the 90's. I myself have witnessed first hand the shite served up back then. But back them we didn't have the greatest manager in world football at the helm, or players winning Balon D' or's neither!!!

I don't lay the blame for this season at the feet of the players or even Pep. I think they have been let down by the recruitment team. They are obsessed with the net spend trophy at the minute. This team could have dominated for another 5 years if they recruited smartly.

After next weekend we could (probably will) be 11 points off the top. And with how this team is performing this season, we ain't recovering from it!!!

Time for some fresh ideas from Pep. Maybe Play the academy lads and get us some fresh legs in that midfield???

Disappointing thing for me is that the scousers haven't even had to fight for this year's title. We have rolled over for them!!

You are saying in the same post that international players like Lewis, Savinho and Doku are not good enough, and that, maybe, Pep should play academy players.

The players you mention are here because Pep thinks they have the talent to grow into top players. It's too expensive to sign only ready-made top players. We can afford to pay 100m for Wirtz or Musiala, but not for multiple stars.

Great post and spot on mate. Agree every word.

What got me yesterday was we could've been 2 or 3 up before their goal. We can't finish our chances at the minute - and once teams get in front we can't break them down.

Defensively we are a total shambles at the moment. Spurs didn't have to work particularly hard - neither did Sporting, Brighton or Bournemouth either. They just had a bit of pace and urgency which we lack. Our players look shot where other teams look the opposite.

Pep's never been able to handle that "collapse" against teams when they scored against us then we fall to pieces. This game was in that Real, Lyon, Liverpool, Monaco, Sporting etc mould. The whole team froze. I can't figure it out but once we concede 2 goals quickly, it's knockout time and we get hammered. It's both incredible such a good team can do this every season and pathetic that no one steps up to steady the ship. To be honest, I thought Ederson stepped up yesterday as we could've easily let in 6 without him.

I view Rodri as our most important player but let's be honest, if we can't win without one player then the system is weak. I don't expect anyone to be as good as Rodri but surely there's someone in the u21 etc team that can play a bit like him, or if not then paired with someone else. It seems crazy to play a system that relies on players who can't play it.

I'm hoping Pep has an answer to this as at the moment it's looking like a long season.

I don't know what the plan is or what we need to do. I think it's clear that Walker, Gundogan are no longer the players they were. KdB can't be relied on and Grealish just isn't top class. However, selling them isn't going to raise much and replacing them will.

For the next few games we need to stop conceding goals, simple as that. Pick a solid back 4 - Gvardiol, Ake and Stones as musts. Right back is a problem though. We have to play 2 holding kids and Gungogan shouldn't be one of them. Problem is I can't think of anyone to play there! I'd also be tempted to play without a striker as we play better without one - generally.

I don't think the title has gone and if anyone can win the next 16 games there's only one manager who's repeatedly shown how to do it. I wouldn't be at all surprised that he comes up with a new system either!!

Chin up Blues, no one has seen what we've seen and if someone else wins the league whilst we rebuild then so be it. We will just win the next 5 titles :)

International or no international - what they are showing at the minute isn't what we expect to see at City.

Compare Sav. Doku and Rico to what we had previously Mahrez, Sterling, Sane etc...

They are on different planets.

All I'm saying is the academy players like Wright, o"Reilly and Mcatee surely can't do any worse surely.
