How many points to win the league?

Nowhere near the league, you can't win it every year at the end of the day.

But we are now in very real danger of missing the top 4 as well. We are absolutely woeful at the moment.

No midfield at all. While we've done so much right over the past decade, the last couple of transfer windows have been nothing short of disgraceful and we've gone from being the second youngest team on the league to one of the oldest.

Huge, huge few months ahead but I have to say I'm not very optimistic, this squad just looks fucked.

International or no international - what they are showing at the minute isn't what we expect to see at City.

Compare Sav. Doku and Rico to what we had previously Mahrez, Sterling, Sane etc...

They are on different planets.

All I'm saying is the academy players like Wright, o"Reilly and Mcatee surely can't do any worse surely.

You are comparing players from different stages of their careers.

And it doesn't make sense to be critical of certain young players, and simultaneously to want to see other young players, even less proven, be given a chance. Let that for Pep to decide.

Sterling AND Sane were 20 years old when they signed for City????

They were both better in their first couple of seasons than what Doku and Sav have served up. (IMO).

It's gone for 24/25.

Big rebuild required. We have flogged the same players to death over the last 3 or 4 seasons. And now it shows. We lamented Klopp for doing the same and we have copied him!

Walker
Gundo
Bernie
Kev

Are All showing their age now. It's painful to watch.

Rico
Sav
Doku

Young but clueless. Not at the level required for us.

And the happy clappers can keep banging on about previous seasons and we've been here before, and we will all be eating humble pie come May! - Can they not see that this season we see been absolute tosh for most of it? Even in games that we have won.

It's not about being pessimistic it's about seeing what is happening right in front of our eyes week in week out.

And the supporters that polish the "you should have seen us in the 90s" comment. Yes we was shit in the 90's. I myself have witnessed first hand the shite served up back then. But back them we didn't have the greatest manager in world football at the helm, or players winning Balon D' or's neither!!!

I don't lay the blame for this season at the feet of the players or even Pep. I think they have been let down by the recruitment team. They are obsessed with the net spend trophy at the minute. This team could have dominated for another 5 years if they recruited smartly.

After next weekend we could (probably will) be 11 points off the top. And with how this team is performing this season, we ain't recovering from it!!!

Time for some fresh ideas from Pep. Maybe Play the academy lads and get us some fresh legs in that midfield???

Disappointing thing for me is that the scousers haven't even had to fight for this year's title. We have rolled over for them!!
Agree with you on most of that especially on walker, gundogan, Kev and bernado

Not having for one minute that Savinho, Doku and Rico aren’t good enough

The issue is they are all going to be great players, as I’m sure Harwood bellis and delap will be (if we buyback) and bobb when he returns

The biggest problem is while we are blooding them we need quality players in the team
We have wasted a few windows buying kovacic, gundo, Phillips, Nunes etc

We have not got our first choices and are not buying form the top tier or even he second tier at the moment
Recruitment quite frankly has been apalling

The quality, legs and speed in the squad has disappeared
We have no goal scorers left and no one will to take a risk or attempt a pass

Been coming for a while but still shocked at how bad it is

No, both Sterling and Sane weren't great in their first seasons. Sane wasn't a regular starter, even though we were a bit average in 16/17. I'd say Savinho has looked more impressive in the first 3 months of his City career than Sane. And Doku looked no less promising last season than Sterling in 15/16, even though Sterling didn't change the country.

We will revisit this in a few seasons. By that time Raheem and Sane had nearly 190 goals between them.

Sav and Doku won't score half of that. Guaranteed!

Kinda difficult to see where our next PL points are coming from. Freefalling down the league is a nightmare but very real possibility as everyone will fancy their chances against us. This could finally be the season all our haters have been praying for so buckle up lads and lasses.

Sterling was frustrating in his first 2 seasons, not just the 1st season. He blossomed in his 3rd season with us. Did you write in 2016 that he would score 20 or even 30 goals a season?

Both Sterling and Sane had the chance to play with prime KDB and David Silva. Currently, we don't have such players in midfield. The whole midfield is weak for our recent standards.
