How many points to win the league?

I don't think we're in it this year, although I'm not giving up hope completely. It looks a tall order at the moment with our performances and calamitous recent results. I would love it if the team just threw a switch and said "that's enough of this nonsense now" , but I know it doesn't work like that. We can improve though and the other teams will falter at some point. I hope the team draws a line under the last few weeks and finds some inspiration.
We're not in the race.
Players are tierd.
Which most of the time that pisses me off when people say that.
But they've given everything.
Too many injured players or not fully fit.
Too many getting the wrong side of 30.
Too many simply not good enough.
We used to have 4 world class players.
Vinny.
Yaya.
Silva.
And aguero.
We have 1 now.
And he doesn't suit our style.
Or we don't suit his.
Peps to stubborn to change tactics.
But ha ho.
We go again.
We've the right man to start again.
We've seen more than I ever imagined so if we've had our time as the dominant force.
So be it .

I'd be shocked if we didn't

We're in our worst run of form of all time under Pep and yet we are still 2nd somehow

Let's have some faith, every player we have is in poor form at the moment, this isn't gonna last forever
2nd but could easily be 5th and 11 points off top after this weekend.

It'd be easier to have some faith if we hadn't performed like we have in the last two games after most of the squad had a two week break and pep had some time to come up with a solution to the issues we had before the international break.

Instead we look even worse and it doesn't look like the rot is going to end anytime soon.

Don’t think we will make the cut for the champions league

Pep's worst season, the 1st, ended with 78 pts. I think 70 pts are likely to be enough for top 4.

Pep's system is ideal for league competitions. It might struggle every 5 years or so due to injuries, aging players, bad luck, etc., but it tends to deliver.

Top four is the main aim for us, which is no shame at all after an incredible run since 2020, but I think we're going to end up a bit closer to Liverpool than it looks right now.

Liverpool will inevitably wobble and it's about how they respond to that. Arsenal were absolutely flying in 22/23 until they hit a couple of bumps in the road. It won't all be sunshine and roses for Liverpool all season.

But whether City or Arsenal, or even Chelsea, will be close enough to catch them when the wobble comes is a different story. I still think they'll win the league before the final day, but they won't hit 100 points.

I think they'll finish somewhere in the high 80s while City and Arsenal land somewhere between 70-80. Which, again, is no disgrace. There are three really high quality teams leading the PL now and the next few years look interesting.
