I want Newcastle to beat Chelsea. Forrest to beat them too. So they don't end up in the champions league. I have faith in us to do our bit.
 
I can see a situation where if Forest and Chelsea draw when they play each other they both make top five at the expense of Newcastle.

VIlla I think will win all three but fail on GD.

The other interesting thing is that if Newcastle beat Arse we have a chance of being second, but if Arse beat Newcastle our chances of making the top five increase.

Win our 3 games and it doesn’t matter what chelsea newcastle forest and villa do

It's all irrelevant anyway with the new format. Whichever pot you end up in, you end up playing 2 teams from each of the four pots. Having a high coefficient and being in pot 1 no longer has any advantage

That still wasn’t a bad team that Slot put out. The issue was probably more down to Liverpool players being on the lash all week.

Difficult to know what to expect from the Arsenal game. Liverpool will want to put on a show in front of their own fans but now the title is won, their intensity could easily be a bit off. That said, if Arsenal go out of the CL tomorrow they could be demoralised.
 
Not impossible looking at the fixtures that each team wins 2 of the last 3. Thus Forest and Villa miss out.
 
Think it will pretty much finish as it is now if I'm honest, with us finishing on 71 points along with Arsenal but their goal difference coming into play. We'd have to absolutely paste a couple of the teams we play now to make that up, which would need something like the leagues best striker coming back...oh hang on!

That is assuming arsenal pick up one win, one draw and one loss and we win two and draw one. If we win all three then we'll probably take second.

At this point though those numbers can change very quickly. We beat Southamton by 3 and arsenal lose to liverpool by 2 or 3 not outlandish and second becomes 50/50.
 
If Newcastle beat Chelsea then the latters game against Forest becomes crucial.

Chelsea lose both they can only get to 66. If they beat Forest then the max Forest can get is 67. If Chelsea and Forest were to draw then the max both could get is 67 and 68.

If Chelsea draw with Newcastle then the max both teams can get is 70. But again that would mean Forest getting 67 points.

If Chelsea draw both then the max they can get is 68.

Villa have little room for error but at least it's simple for them. They need 3 wins to get to 69. Bournemouth away crucial for them.

we probably don't want Chelsea going to Nottingham with 69 in the bag as they might then be on the beach.

Barcodes win on Saturday is best for us.

God save us from that! With the state the EL is now in — two absolutely shit teams, one of which is very probably going to win it — I would genuinely rather be out of Europe altogether, concentrate totally on the league, and go hell for leather to reclaiming that trophy.

Pretty simple really since forest and chelsea have to play each other.

The max chelsea can get is 72 - which means forest max would be 67

Conversely the max forest can get is 70 which means Chelseas max is 69

Hence 70 points needed atm.

If they were to draw 68 points does it .

There's absolutely nothing to suggest they're on the cusp of domination. Their two best players turn 33 and 34 this summer! Fucking simpleton.
