I think you may be underestimating the pride of the professional sportsman. Young men who’ve got to the level they’re at by showing huge determination don’t just lay down and die.Yesterday was by far our easiest game of the 3 we had left.
How can that be arrogance.
The reigning 4 times Champions going to a team that was relegated with 11 points from 35 games.
We needed the 3 points, they didn't.
They were fucking shite mate, they just turned out as an obligation.
Whatever the result it meant absolutely nothing to them but the 3 points were fucking huge for us.
That said, I agree that on paper it was a banker 3 points. Unfortunately that’s just a sporting cliche, there are no bankers. The markets gave us an 83% chance of winning but every weekend in every sport there are teams and players with higher percentage chances than that of winning that fail to deliver the expected result
