We needed the 3 points, they didn't.

They were fucking shite mate, they just turned out as an obligation.

I think you may be underestimating the pride of the professional sportsman. Young men who’ve got to the level they’re at by showing huge determination don’t just lay down and die.

That said, I agree that on paper it was a banker 3 points. Unfortunately that’s just a sporting cliche, there are no bankers. The markets gave us an 83% chance of winning but every weekend in every sport there are teams and players with higher percentage chances than that of winning that fail to deliver the expected result

Not having that.

It's only a thing because Savage and the Media bell ends bang on about it.

It actually means Fuck All.

They finished bottom, just the same as every other team that finished bottom.

When do you ever here of City being the best Champions ever by getting 100 points or, by having the largest gap between the runners up?

You don't, it's never mentioned apart from on here or by Blues.

I watched the game a no way did Soton go the extra yard to not get beat. They just didn't have to try very hard!

I don’t think you’ve watched Southampton much this season then! They certainly didn’t go out to try and win it, which is absolutely fine.
 
So 4 points definitely guarantees top 5 chelsea and villa defo both need to win both their games to get to 69 so I actually think 3 points will do it as don't see both winning both games. Bournemouth game actually now takes more importance than cup final.

They celebrated the point like they won the league and then trolled Derby on social media. It was definitely on their minds mate!

But agree they didn't have to work very hard for it.

I'm still confident we will make the top 5. Point against Bournemouth then beat Fulham final day. Villa will win their two, Newcastle's games are toughest, Forest running out of steam but will give Chelsea a huge test final day.

Newcastle, Villa and City will take the final spots.

draw vs Soton is shit but how we got 1 point total vs the fucking rags in two games?

there are others dropping points vs the relegated clubs like Forest today or Chelsea few weeks back vs Ipswich, but Chelsea will do the 6 points vs rags, Villa same, even Spurs did 6 points vs them, and Newcastle, Forest too.

we got 1 out of 6 points.

Not for me. Rather win a trophy than qualify for a competition we ain’t going to win next year. Having said that hopefully we will achieve both

Which is why yesterday's shambles may cost us the cup final if Pep plays a weakened side.
 
Newcastle were kryptonite for arsenal earlier in the season weren’t they? That happens again and looks like they could well take 2nd.
 
Playing a cup final in 25 degree heat on an energy sapping(and dry) pitch probably isn't going to work in our favour against a team who will have had 10 days rest......

I think he'll choose to rest players. And I'll be fuming if so.
 
After the stick we've given Arsenal and Arteta this season I expect them to be well up for our game next week and I'm not expecting us to get anything from that game. I think it's going down to the final day but I expect the top 5 now to remain top 5 at end of the season - not necessarily in the current order though.
