Top 4 is absolutely doable.

Liverpool have already won it, unless they have a meltdown of epic proportions, even for them!

You'd imagine Forest will fall away so top 5 feels likely to be the dippers, Arsenal, City, Newcastle and Chelsea. Possibly in that order.
 
objectives now, push for 2nd place which we can
beat liverpool to stop them being able to get 100 points
Win FA cup or Champs league for another good seasons end and also stop any chance of a scouse treble

Wouldn't be surprised if we won at Arsenal. Our attack is better and they will give Haaland, Foden and Marmoush enough space to be dangerous.

There's something in that. It's the same reason. Liverpool will walk the title - no one else is capable of putting a run together. I'm stunned that given how shite we've been we're only 6 points behind Arsenal.
 
Despite us having that spell of gaining 5 points in 9 league games, it's crazy that were only 6 points behind Arsenal
 
We win every game only puts us on 86 points Liverpool will get 90+ 68 points will get top 5 I reckon what we aiming for..

Bang on. Think liverpool need to win every game from now to get 100 points? So the centurions should be fine
 
Good weekend result wise. Newcastle winning but everyone else struggling. Roping Forest back into it will help increase the pressure on them too. The Arsenal game looks huge now. Winning it is pretty much handing the title to the dippers but it also brings them back into the mix and gives us huge confidence.

Why will Liverpool get 90? We have dramatically proven already ourselves that teams can suddenly hit a bad patch of form. Is it absolute unthinkable that they could maybe lose a few on the bounce here and there? Once a large gap gets smaller, those being chased can also sometimes get nervy. FWIW I think we'll probably end up being our own downfall, but I wouldn't rule of Liverpool having some off moments. It'd be nice if we could be there to capitalise.
 
We might really have a tough month..

14 games left.. we're on 41 points. Figure we need 70 to make top 4.

We're too bad defensively by not controlling the ball.. instead we turn it over and we've given up the most fast breaks in the league.


Thankfully Newcastle lost. Think we'll have to beat them at home next game to have a chance at top 4. That is a HUGE game.. if we turn it over vs them.. Isak and Gordon will shred us to pieces.
 
If it's not obvious already every team watching that debacle today, will fancy their chances. Just press Ortega, and he will eventually make a mistake. We're going to have to win games Keeganesque if we do get 4th.

It was far more than just Ortega. Arsenal didn’t even come in with a game plan, they just took advantage of how shit we were.
 
Calm down. The problem is that our midfielders cannot carry the ball forward. Since the first championship with Mancini, we had Yaya Toure as a pivot player who no one could take the ball away from. In the early days of Pep's era, we used a double pivot with Silva and De Bruyne, who helped each other carry the ball upfield. Teams that tried to press us would get sliced through and look bad, so they preferred to sit back and counter. In recent times, we've had Rodri and De Bruyne, but when these two are absent, no one else can carry the ball up effectively. When pressed, we lose the ball, and our weak defense gets exposed.

We've been frugal for a long time, and many of our players have been acquired cheaply. Some have been developed, while others have been used as supporting cast. Currently, we lack a general of that caliber. We just need to wait for our injured players to return, and the game will improve. Winning another championship will require a rebuilding phase and some fine-tuning, which may take several seasons. We didn't win previous championships easily. Some say Pep's era is over, but the previous championships relied heavily on Pep's intelligence. Even when we had injuries, he adapted, changed plans each new season, and other teams couldn't figure us out. We've often been stronger in the second half of the season. When the first half wasn't great, Pep always adjusted the plan to gain an advantage.

Pep's tactical acumen is second to none, and our players have exceeded expectations. We've been fortunate fans for a long time. Now it's time to let the team rebuild. Stay calm.
