It's getting harder with the other teams all winning but it's far from over.
Admittedly we're not improving but we're not the only contenders who are inconsistent too.
We're already at Wembley so finishing in top five will be OK with me. CTID

Better to finish 10th than 6th or 7th imo
Fuck Thursday nights. Would rather a year out to give a much changed squad time to regroup and refocus on the training pitch, than flying across time multiple zones to play Borat’s Village XI on former nuclear waste sites, for prize money that probably wouldn’t cover the air fare
Agreed but unfortunately I think it's that scenario if we don't get top five. Albania awaits.

Bookmark it for all the blind optimists who think we'll romp top 4!

Honestly don't know what they see in our games. The reality is we are very poor.

That's the brutal truth. There are teams below us that play a better brand of football.

Dress it up all u want. We are shit!
I suspect that you wouldn't have a arse clue what a shit team is.

Watching City lose 4-0 at home to Grimsby Town, for example? Or losing 2-1 at home to Barnsley? How about going half a season without scoring a goal at home? Now that was shit.

You talk about City not 'romping top 4'. No-one is suggesting that, What some are saying is that City have a more than decent chance at making the top 5. Your 'scientific' analysis is that City are shit!

A recent OPTA analysis put City on 78.4% to qualify for the Champions League. No further questions m'lud!

Our one saving grace may be Chelseas last 4 fixtures.
Liverpool (h) - although the dips won't give a fuck by then.
Newcastle (a)
Rags (h) - hopefully they park the bus like the derbies
Forest (a) - possibility this one's key
Firstly though we have to find ways to win ourselves!!

Top 5 or 10th for me n’all.

Now that the CL is so big with so many teams, it makes the Europas pointless with absolutely no prestige at all. They’re just midtable Thursday competitions meaning loads of Sunday PL games, I’d rather not!

Can we still win the league?
With Liverpool losing and us gaining a point yesterday; yes, just.

Liverpool are currently on 73 points with +42 GD
We can still get 73 points and currently have a +17 GD

So if we win every game by an average of 1.8 goals and they lose every game by an average of 1.8 goals, we can still win the title!

FWIW, here's my prediction:-

Palace - defeat 0 point - They will tear us apart with pace and physicality
Everton - defeat 0 points - They will make it a scrap and without Rodri we will struggle
Villa - defeat 0 points - much better squad
Wolves - win 3 points - should win just
Southampton - win 3 points - they're relegated

Unsure how you expect us to attract the players we need to rebuild without any European football. You can't go to Camavinga and Wirtz with an empty cap in your hand.

Stuart Pearce went unbeaten (winning five) in the last eight games of the season in 2004–05. Surely we can put together a run of wins now?

Our run of recent results has been okay. Take out Plymouth who are bobbins, and it’s:
P6 W3 D2 L1 F7 A4
…against Spurs a, Forest a, Brighton h, Bournemouth a, Leicester h, United a

It’s not like we’re heading into this final section of the season after a run of results like we had in November and December.

We wouldn’t attract them in the Europa League or Conference either

I kind of agree, better to be out of 2nd and 3rd rate competitions than in it.
It takes 12 Thursday games to get to semis of EL. 14 if it is with a playoff round.

Chelsea also might find out while they had really piss poor opponents so far in Conference they really find it awkward to manage these games now when also in a dog fight for CL places.
any injury picked up for Enzo or Palmer now on Thursday they might lose CL next season due to it. they can sit them out and probably will but still its 2x90 mins with an away leg, with PL game on Sunday.
this week its not that bad as they play away to Legia Warsaw and and then hosting Ipswich, but next weekend its a Fulham-Chelsea game, bit of rivalry there and also Fulham away aint a simple fixture this time, look at Arsenal, Liverpool results there.

in EL much better level of opponents, for the English sides its Lyon and Frankfurt, these are not much different imo to Feyenoord, Brugge, Sporting level we had in CL.

Hahaha

You've also included Villa when I actually said it would be Bournemouth that we would beat at home.

I don't think Chelsea are as big danger to us as Villa and Newcastle.
I think the winner, if any, of our match with Villa will get the final CL place.
If Newcastle win their 2 games in hand, they will be 4 points of ahead of us and 3 ahead of Chelsea.

I get the impression that there is a slight overreaction to yesterday’s game. Pep for some reason was more worried about united then most of us, went cautious and controlled but neutered us. We’re clearly not where we’d like to be in terms of our form and team setup.

Most of our recent seasons we take a while to hit a formation and setup that works and once we do we charge along. It’s clear this season we simply haven’t found our best system and team, Rodri’s injury has cast a huge shadow. We have played in different ways and won against Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs, Bournemouth, Leicester but rarely convincingly. Obviously the loss of Haaland has affected our setup so we may see a few more variations on the run in.

Palace will be tough but Guehi is a big loss. We will be offering a different threat without Haaland.

Unlike most seasons we have more rest time going into matches but it’s not clear if that’s helping or hindering our rhythm.
