Well after a good nights sleep I’ve calmed down after that shitshow of a performance.
We need to win the fa cup and I’m confident we will but we simply can’t play like yesterday that being said I think we play better against teams that don’t pack there own box. I’m sure pep will get us over the line foe the champs league.
I still have a big worry over our recruitment
Though and I can’t shake that one.
Up the fucking blues!!

As I mentioned though, the large part of my frustration is at the future; I just don't know where the trajectory is going, and you'd struggle to argue that it's likely to change dramatically, which is what needs to happen

I think if we could click our fingers, we'd do away with almost half of this current squad.

There's a lot of emphasis on Rodri coming back fully fit and having the same impact; take Rodri out and we fall back into the pack IMO

Games like yesterday are concerning for our long term prospects. Rodri makes a monumental difference. We can worry less about giving the ball away in attack with him in the side, which means we can be less one dimensional.

He alone isn't going to turn us into title contenders though. There have been glimpses of quality but no one has grabbed the game by the scruff and made things happen consistently enough.

It's undoubtedly a big summer for the club.

The bigger picture is important too. We have won a shit load. We might still win the cup this season. Arsenal have declined despite winning fuck all. Liverpool managed the odd trophy here and there but haven't sustained their success.

We have won all three is to win and broken records during 4 years of absolute dominance. If a cup final and a great chance of the CL is the decline then it's been a pretty successful bad year, better than the majority of seasons the club has had and everyone at the club will want so much more next season.
 
Tbh with our fucking pathetic displays in the CL this season and our league performances we don’t deserve to be there next season. However I think 4 points will be enough luckily for the club.
 
Just me that thinks a Newcastle win is actually better than a draw? Jackson being suspended for the rest of the season will be huge loss.
 
Good result for us - brings the required total down to a max 69 (though I still think one point will be enough in the end). If Forest somehow manage to mess this up then it could be even better.
 
Villa fans hoping for a team to slip up (ie we lose one)
or Forest & Chelsea to end in a draw.

Club world Cup matters to the club for the considerable amount of revenue it could create, in fact I even suggested that we might have deliberately chosen not to try to chase for the title once we started to fall behind because of that - it makes far more sense to the club to have a fully fit side for the CWC than to break their necks and be exhausted all over again chasing another title.

But fans of any other club won't have a clue who won it you ask them in a few months' time.

I think a low scoring win for Newcastle was probably what we needed. And things become a little clearer now. Arsenal likely to get 71 points Newcastle 70 Villa 69 Forest 68 and Chelsea 67 unless they beat forest. If so they get 69 and forest 67. If we don’t win verses Bournemouth to get 68 it could see us in the eufa. Will be a nervy game that. Would not want to be going to Fulham (as I am) needing a win even if we do usually do well there. Just emphasises what an almighty fuck up yesterday was. Looks like us or Chelsea now.

Didn't Bournemouth recently beat Arsenal at the Emirates? Hardly bad form. If the ref/VAR had been operating properly, Villa would have been down to 10 men and would not have won the last game. We will need to be up for it.
 
Good result for us. Newcastle has two tough remaining matches, and personally, I think Chelsea is better than them and showed it in the second half.
 
We have 2 very difficult games left, I don’t see us winning both. This will go to final game & away to Fulham will not be easy on final day. We really needed to win yesterday
