Some them bastards attacked Man City fans including women and kids with bottles at about 10 am in the morning before the game against HamburgLots of people from lots of different clubs take an interest in St Pauli. They're like the hipsters of football.
I attended our pre-season tour in Italy in 1992 if my memory serves me right and we stayed in Lake Garda near where City based themselves, we played Torino & Verona on that tour along with another team i've forgotten. One thing I do remember is the tight relationship we had with the Torino fans over there, I'm not sure how it started but it was very evident on that tour there was a connection with the club and the flying of the flag supported that.Years ago - about 1988 it'd be - the fanzine Blueprint did a series on clubs that had an affinity with City and, if I remember right, the series started with Torino. It was certainly featured. It was basically because of their status as Turin's club with a supposed bigger and more popular club as neighbours that established the link from what I remember.
They're not hipsters they're left wing politically and punk rock mentality. I'm into neither so have no interest in them.Lots of people from lots of different clubs take an interest in St Pauli. They're like the hipsters of football.
