I'll look forward to reading all the backtracking from spurs fans if they get a huge investment. I've had a quick look and it's already started, apparently it's ok for them to spend money because we did it first. What about it not being fair on all the other Prem clubs ? They don't seem arsed about that now. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.
You have to laugh really. If Tottenham were taken over City-style, Spuds fans would never ever say "you bought the league" or "where were you when you were shit" again. Suddenly, spending out of their means would become acceptable and they would start complaining at financial fair play. As you say, bunch of fucking hypocrites. This is why I never listen to opposition football fans these days, particularly on City, because they full of shit.

If we got taken over - as half the Spurs fans I know are praying we do - then obviously most will be happy, and of those a significant section would be the hypocrites you talk about. A small minority will be unhappy, and stick to their guns on pre-held views.

The above describes Spurs fans, City fans, and basically just fans, or do you think before your take-over all the City fans used to applaud the big-spending antics of Chelsea, Utd and the rest...?

This.. Always been more concerned with City struggling to stay up rather than mitherin' about how rich other clubs were...

Seems we are the only ones who didnt give a shit about the Roman Billions, after all the money we got for SWP kept our heads above murky water.

Me neither, with the exception of the rags (for obvious reasons) I and everybody I knew were more than happy to see another club make the premier league a more interesting place with its new-found wealth.

Some clubs dont mind our wealth but the usual suspects really fookin hate it..

And to quote the macdonalds advert. Na na na na na..Im lovin it.

An exciting transition for spurs fans, I have always said that in my opinion AVB was simply trying to, at Chelsea, not rely on the old guard and bring in some youth which some manager at some point is going to have to do. Think we might see spurs make a better challenge this coming season.

Even when the Rags did it, while not liking them buying good players for big money (because that invariably gave them a better chance of winning trophies) I was accepting of it and that's going all the way back to the 80's when I was growing up and United were nowhere near the best team in the country. It just seemed the norm for them to do it, even if it plunged them into debt and they'd clearly spent "beyond their means" which is what happened in the summer of 1989 in particular.

Moving on, I don't recall a single City fan begrudging Blackburn Rovers or their fans when Jack Walker bankrolled them even though it could be argued that we were one of the teams they replaced in the top 5 of the top flight - last full season before Walker bought Blackburn we finished 5th in the first division while they were still a second division club. When they got promoted after beating Leicester in the 1992 play-off final we'd finished 5th again.

Villas-Boas has confirmed Modric want's to leave spurs. Surely if they were getting big investment, they would be able to keep hold of him.

Maybe he thinks Essex is a boring, souless, shithole :)

IMO Modric has treated Spurs shabbily. Signing a very long contract and then a few months later wanting to leave was a bit shitty. We'd be furious if one of our key players did the same.

I know mySpurs supporting acquaintances don't all agree but I felt that he lacked desire when playing for Spurs last season and he was always one of the first who went missing when the going got tough during games.

Modric is over-rated anyway, Jermaine "Da Genius" will take his place and it will be an upgrade in my opinion.

then i woke up.
