The Tottenham Thread 13/14 (continued)

Harry Kane - 3 goals in 3 games................ surely not too late for the cockney press to big him up for a place on the plane to Brazil? They have with every other English youngster this season - and non-English in the case of Jizzjazz ( whatever happened to him)

Come on you spurs don't slip up :(

I want Rags to qualify for Europa League. They'll be stronger next year and I don't want them to have free midweeks like Liverpool had this season.
Exactly...
...COME ON YOU REDS!

Is sandro any good? A few times I watch him I can't remember anything special... Wonderful thing going on at spurs, manager blaming the players when they lose, player taking a dig at manager because he gets left out of the squad as the manager don't think he works hard enough.

Well maybe his decision is right as spurs won 3-1?

Btw if you want to finish 7th then you're doing it wrong, start losing lol. Or start friedel. Had lloris not making good saves it would've gone 3-3.

I rate Sandro still only 25. I think he can do a job for any of the top teams. United, Arsenal, Schalke and Milan could all do with him. Not had the greatest of seasons, but with the turmoil around the club that's not easy. I am not sure Tottenham will sell him when the new manager comes in.

Biggest concern for me is his injury record.

I did read someone say that on Twitter, no chance of him going either, there is more chance of Defoe jumping on the plane!

That young defender at Everton has impressed me for a long shot (Stones) - Very comfortable on the ball and seems to read the game well enough, but they will take some cack player like Phil Jones instead

-- Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:54 am --

I like Sandro, he always gives 110% and never stops running. I think he's very good at protecting the defence when we aren't playing a ridiculous high line or just being shite in general (happened all season)

I think he's being harsh on Sandro in all honesty, Ferdinand and Sherwood came out recently and said something about holding midfielders are not needed, straight away Capoue was criticized for being lazy then he got slung as a centre back against Liverpool. Even Sandro got slung back there against Chelsea for a bit. I think he's made most people scratch their heads with some odd stuff, his love for Bentaleb for a while, dropping Eriksen when he hit form, dropping Soldado after he scored a goal in open play, persisting with that useless turd Lennon etc.

We were rather fortunate from what I see of the game, Lloris was MOTM for me. I was slightly distracted with family so it didn't have my full attenion, but even a 3-1 win I hardly got excited watching any of it, pretty much sums up the season

-- Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:59 am --

There's a CL place for the winner as of next season isn't there? That makes the purse significant;y higher.
About 30m for winning the EL depending on the club's own sponsorships and how many clubs from that country reach the latter stages.
About 3m for the League Cup.

The Europa requires a substantial committment though. I don't know exactly but it must be around 15/17 games to win it. Saying that, I think it is a good move by UEFA to offer such an incentive

I had totally forgotten about the new rule regarding the winner of the Europa league. Even though it's a nuisance it might be worthwhile being in the competition.

The only downside for me is that a 3rd place team in the champions league group stage can fall back into the Europa and win it. Never been keen on that at all
