Just watched Spurs U21's dismantle Chelsea's U21's, It was like men against boys.

The future's bright for Spurs if some of those lads can adapt to the seniors.

Massive gap between the U21s and Seniors though...Massive

Agreed, which is why many of our U21 players are sent-out on loan to other Premier League & Football League clubs to gain valuable match experience before playing for Tottenham's first XI.

Spurs Academy Players who tasted first team action in 2012-13:

Steven Caulker
Jake Livermore
Tom Carroll
Andros Townsend
Adam Smith
Ryan Mason
Jon Obika
Harry Kane

...in addition, Shaquile Coulthirst, Dean Parrett, Jordan Archer and Kevin Stewart gained first team squad experience without any playing time.

Also doesn't help Chelsea that they routinely loan out half of their reserves every season, so that was in fact Spurs dismantling a Chelsea B team

You want to talk about loans?

Spurs have Grant Hall, Massimo Luongo, Alex Pritchard and Ryan Mason loaned to Swindon Town, Tomislav Gomelt loaned to Royal Antwerp, Adam Smith loaned to Derby County and Bongali Khumalo loaned to Doncaster Rovers.

We have more people on loan than we do actively playing for us. We were criticised for it last year but it seems to be paying off.

Why are you persisting with Fryers at CB?

Interesting comment
Chelsea had
1) 16 year old
9) 17 year olds
3)18 year olds
&
1) 20 year old play last night

Spurs had
6)18 year olds
2)19 year olds
3)20 year olds
1) 21 year old
1) 23 year old

In terms of approach two different approaches .

The vast majority of Chelsea top youngsters that could play at this age group are out on loan. such as Courtois, Thorgan Hazard , Kane, Saville, Bamford, Van Aanholt .
In addition there are a few others that are at the club either in America with the first team or injured

Vertonghen injured, Kaboul just coming back from injury, Capoue not yet registered.

HT Spurs 1 (Soldado pen) - 1 (Lopez) Espanyol.

Not quite Enfield then.

Where's Bale?

Re: The Tottenham Thread 13/14

Bale still getting over an injury.

FT: Spurs 1-1 Espanyol.

Great to have Sandro & Kaboul back in action today - it's like signing two new players!
