so lopes is going to be a first teamer? legit

No idea. He won the academy player of the year award last season though so he's obviously thought highly of. It's always unclear which youth players have enough within them to make the grade and which don't, and when your first team squad is as littered with talent as ours is it's even harder to make the grade.

Just as a matter of interest, when do players like Townsend, Carroll and Fryers get a game then?

Or do you expect them to go the entire season without playing?

If they're good enough to play for Spurs then they'll get gametime in the first team, if they aren't then why allow them to stiffle the growth of a young player who has the potential to be better than them?

Townsend has just turned 22, Carroll is 21 and Fryers is 20.

Which young player's growth are they stifling?

I don't know which young players growth they're stiffling, but by playing for the U21's when they are clearly members of the first team squad they are taking the place of other U21 players, so maybe them perhaps?

Goal back for City.

Spurs lost possession centrally, Lopes burst through and finished well from the edge of the box. 2-1, 44m.

HT: Tottenham Hotspur U21s 2-1 Manchester City U21s

Anyone have an idea of the EDS' win/loss record over the last year?

Yes.

But I'm not allowed to post the link.

-- Mon Aug 19, 2013 3:19 pm --

GOAL! Tom Carroll switched play to Andros Townsend , he hit the byline and crossed for Falque to convert. 3-1, 52 mins.

GOAL! Another exquisite pass from Tom Carroll released Harry Kane , great first touch and clinical finish. 4-1, 55mins.

Tom Carroll.....the new Messi!

Giddy as fuck over an u21 game just about sums some spuds up lol

GOAL! Hat-trick for Harry Kane - superb crossfield pass from Sandro to Andros Townsend , low cross rifled into roof of net. 5-1, 64m

Well thats it sell bale, bring these players through with this talent you'll surely win the league, both cups and the europa league or am i going a bit to far over a kids game?

5-3? no shame in losing to a much stronger and more experienced Spuds side on their own turf.

Think that sort of a game for Spurs is more a case of "which one of these looks like a bench player and which do we need to get rid of?" exercise whilst ours was actually blooding young players in a challenging environment at a completely different stage of their development.
