All the papers agree you're spending the Bale money.

Still confident he is staying?

If Gareth Bale needed any convincing that Spurs are serious about challenging for the League Title, I don't think the club could have done any more during this summer's transfer window.

Yes, I still think he will stay.

Think Spurs are serious challenges for the Top 4, However league? Not yet

They already signing Soldado, Capoue and Paulinho. They look like they will get Willian, Lamela and Coentrao.

Thats a lot of quality right there replacing the likes of adebayor, parker, lennon and dempsey. If those signings can get off to a good start then they'll most definitely be adding to the title race.

Think levy is pushing the boat out because with all the managerial changes he really thinks they could win the title if somehow miraculously levy can persuade Madrid to wait till next year to sign Bale I think they could challenge for the title.......

Being a City fan of a certain vintage, and being present the 1981 Cup Final, it comes all too naturally to "hate on" Spurs.

I would say, however, that in terms of unabridged hypocrisy they are rank amateurs compared to Liverpool, Arsenal and united. I prefer to focus my energies where it's really deserved these days. A sure sign of my increasing maturity.

...but just how serious will this challenge be?

I can only see the Spuds getting 4th. They don't have the defense to challenge for the league.

Interesting comment, in view of the fact that last season Spurs only conceded three more goals than League Champions Manchester United.

Even with these new signings, Spurs are no where near United's attack though, RvP, Rooney (for all this out talk he got some assists), Little Gimp and Welbeck is far superior to Spurs'. Lamela seems a bit of a pipe dream, don't think it'll happen but we'll see, be one of him or Pjanic leaving Roma. Willian won't offer loads in the goals department but he's a great option to open up a defence with his dribbling. Tottenham don't really have the attack to compete full time as their defence is still a bit leaky.

But scored 20 goals less than United and now your top goal scorer is off to Madrid

Nah, not this season. Their defence is still porous, their mentality crap and they are Spurs at the end of the day. They will do very very well to get 80 points.

There was a period where United was conceding a bunch of goals in games, they would just outscore opponents to win games. I remember when De Gea was put down by the rag fan base, only to watch him and their defense improve as the season went on.

81 points wouldn't really be a title challenge would it?

Ah... so it's not our defence that's no good.

It's our attack.

I think with quality around the Prem, probably looking at 90 points to win it this year

Agreed, the last two league winners have won it on 89 points. I don't see Spuds getting anywhere near that.
