Interesting how this happened after an away trip in the Europa league. Did they play a good team in that midweek? Still don't have the ability to compete on multiple fronts?

We played a 2nd eleven in Russia with a couple of regulars so no excuses.

Spurs U21's play at Liverpool tonight, Will be interesting to see if Adebayor plays?

Well done West Ham. Can't stand Tottenham. Still pissing myself laughing. Bwahahahaha...

Hating spurs is easy. I don't think I've ever met a fan of any other club that doesn't despise them.

I have nothing against Spurs in particular, I used to hate the fact we seemed to lose every game against them but we’ve corrected that over the past few years.

I met one Spurs fan who moved up north who was a grade-A nob, but the guys I was chatting to on the way back to the car after last year’s game at WHL were fine, very reasonable and knowledgeable.

I like AVB and think Spurs have bought pretty well, particularly Eriksen, so hope they do well this year, just not better than us obviously. I’d rather they finish above United for obvious reasons, Chelsea because I can’t stand Mourinho and Arsenal because it’d be nice to have a change.

After they'd won? That makes sense.

i think they've bought a load of crap to be honest, how many of these stars would fit in Madrid or Barca ?

then you got City... Aguro, Yaya, Silva , Kompany

United ... Van Persie, Rooney, Vidic

Chelsea ... Hazard, Oscar, Luiz, Mata

Liverpool .. Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard

Arsenal ... Wilshere, Giroud, Ozil

Tottenham i'd say.. Lloris and erm... ?

A fair point but the way most on here talk I'd have expected them to be arrogant arseholes about it.

-- Mon Oct 07, 2013 4:52 pm --

I think you're being very kind to the other teams there, I couldn't see any of Rooney, Vidic, Luiz, Sturridge, Coutinho, Gerrard or Giroud playing regularly for Barca or Madrid.

Plus, it's not necessarily about the best 11 names on paper, but how they work together. You'll obviously not agree being a West Ham fan but the proof's in the pudding as they say and we'll see at the end of the season how well they've done.

Vertonghen.

Given time a lot of the good young players they have can establish themselves as top stars. Of course being Spurs a lot of these players are being hyped up to levels they're not quite at yet, doesn't mean they're not good though.

Can't comment on the others but Barca has been harassing us to buy Luiz over the last 3 windows. I agree with the overall sentiment of your post though. I said this from the beginning when Spuds were getting so giddy and a lot of people were bigging them up and nobody took me seriously. Lets wait and see how well these new signings actually do before losing our shit. They're an average team at the moment IMO.

They're not even in the same weight class as the European heavyweights. If you thought what Bayern did to City was bad, imagine what they'd do to AVB's high line. They should be concentrating on qualifying for the CL before even indulging delusions like winning the title. I didn't even think we'd win the title when Mourinho came in 2004 until it became obvious how good we were, I thought Arsenal were too much to overcome so soon.

I think Luiz is ideal for a lot of Barca's matches but couldn't see him playing the big games.

I don't think Tottenham can win the league but reckon they've got a decent shout of top 4.

13 from 7 isn't the end of the world, Considering the new players.

We won't be fully operational until December and this could end up being a transitional season.

So the narrative has changed from PL winners to transition season.

Absofuckinlutely on the head there fella!!!...

I know spurs tend to fade but this is fookin like harry potters cloak of invisibility.. :)
