The Tottenham Thread (Merged)

shock horror , spurs appear as geniune challengers for the premiership title only to suddenly start getting bad refereeing decisions going against them .
Spurs fans should get used to it , like us they are challenging the established order , expect a few more dropped points due to "refereeing discrepancies " in the coming months

Spurs have been on the receiving end of decisions that have turned games and cost them points. So have we. But at least they haven't started sending Spuds players off for no reason, yet. The worse thing about straight red cards is they don't just influence the game being played at the time, they also deprive people of key players for the games to come.

Just had a quick look on their forum, and it appears they didn't win today because Wolves are shit.

Wolves were far from shit.

The came to WHL with a game plan and succeeded in coming away with a point.

They did very well indeed.

Two terrible refereeing decisions went against Spurs - the corner they were awarded for their goal should never have been given and Adebayor's goal was not offside, but these things happen in football.

Until FIFA/UEFA wake-up to the fact that we're in the 21st century and still using 19th century technology, there will always be these absurd calls ruining football.

aint life a woman,do u think your the only club that gets bad decisions and u never know they might change the technology if twitcher cries enough

Reading between the lines:
So HR was due in court, Southwark, immediately after the Pakistan players trial but there was a press ban on reporting this (probably explains why a case appears on the court listings as ***.)
HR sought an adjournment because of his "heart problems". It is not clear how much the judge was impressed with this claim but as part of the terms for agreeing the adjournment the press ban was lifted regarding the January trial (obviously not that impressed).

Funnily enough, the "heart trouble" also coincided with Spuds having an overseas game, probably difficult to attend if you cannot use your passport but your absence easy to explain if you have heart trouble.

Roll on the day of the trial.
Lets see how the press darling goes on then

I don't think THFC6061 was complaining about Spurs being uniquely badly treated. And Harry isn't the type to moan excessively about decisions against his team.

As it happens, I don't agree with THFC6061 that they were "terrible" decisions. They were wrong decisions, certainly. But easily made. Can't be too hard on the officials. Spurs only have themselves to blame, to be honest. Terrible defending from that corner and woefully poor finishing throughout the game. Otherwise they would have won comfortably.

-- Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:36 pm --

Kaboul v Stoke.

Not a straight red, admittedly, but still a one game ban for two trifling fouls.

You don't need to tell us about poor officiating decisions
A nailed on pen vs Chelsea not given
An onside goal scored by Ballotelli vs West Brom cost us two points
An offside last kick of the game winner allowed to stand for Sunderland that cost us a point
A four match suspension given to Kompany for what was a booking at the very most
Even last night, a Wigan player jumped with Dzeko and punched the ball off his head and the ref missed it

Re this weekend's game and how will our patched up defence cope
Has anyone noticed that since putting three past Bolton at the start of December, Spurs have only scored more than one goal in two of their last eight Premier league fixtures, Norwich and Everton
There again, I'm certain the press will spin it as Spurs have scored in every league game this season bar two

not to mention the outrageous last man hand ball that was only a yellow!
possibly the worst refereeing decision this season

Oh and a big thanx for Kyle "Alberto Carlos" Walkers tweet - a tonic if we ever needed one for Sunday
I bet Twitcher´s blood pressure has shot up if it isn´t ballistic already with the trial et al. Wouldn´t be surprised if he was dropped for that

Biggest problem for me will be width, we play narrow they play wide if Milner plays he will cover one side but if Nasri plays he often doesn't cover hope this is sorted for the game.

If Silva plays he'll cover the right side fine to help out Richards

I think it'll be as below (if Balo fit). If Balo isn't fit then Milner LW and Barry & NDJ middle

.............Aguero/Dzeko..........
Balo............Nasri............Silva
........................Milner..........
...........Barry.........................
Kolarov...Lescott....Savic...Micah
......................Joe................

(I hope it's not Kolarov but Clichy played last night and we have Liverpool 3 days after the Spurs match)

Subs: Panti, (Aguero or Dzeko), AJ, (Balo or NDJ), Onuoha, Zabba, Hargreaves
