Where’s the quintuple thread, even Peps up for charity shield countingI'm quickly starting the "knocked out over 2 legs in the semi finals, when playing the home leg 1st" thread before someone beats me to it!!

If City were to only win the League Cup (and Community Shield), then while I might be disappointed, I'll have loved them for shooting for the stars and trying to win the lot. If it all gets too much and they fall away, so be it. City could have done what other clubs did and "prioritised", but no, they've gone for the lot. It's bloody marvellous. Even if it doesn't work out.
That's exactly how I see it. I'll be bitterly disappointed, but what a season it will have been, even without the trophies. But strangely enough, I'm getting more confident in this final straight, rather than less. They just seem as if they're having fun, in a weird sort of way.
While we're on the subject, sort of, of trebles, has any British club won the European treble during its history? Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup (or Fairs Cup as it used to be) and Champions League? It seems to me not. Liverpool won the UEFA Cup and (as they keep telling us) the European Cup and its modern equivalent as CL, but not the Cup Winners Cup, I believe. United, on the other hand, won the Cup Winners Cup and the European Cup (or CL) but never the UEFA (Fairs) Cup.
And that just about does it, as far as I can see. Chelsea, maybe? Celtic?
Well, look, we were champions and then relegated the following season. Nobody'll ever take that record from us.

Chelsea and Leicester both looked like they were going to have a decent go of it, but then they bottled it.Well, look, we were champions and then relegated the following season. Nobody'll ever take that record from us.
Not at first, it wouldn't.Would be funny if Liverpool did.
scouser never won any treble ever. In 1980-81 season they won League Cup and European Cup and in 1981-82 they won the League and League Cup but never won a treble. United are definitely the only team so far to have won a treble. Who needs the treble. We lost to Bury, Mansfield and Lincoln in the same season. Thats a proper badge of honour and a proper trebleScouser argued that when rags won the trebble that they did it in 81 league/league cup/european cup with rags saying the FA cup was necessary for a real trebble.
Lets be honest if we win the league and any either of the other two cups left any set is a treble all of equal worth.
