The true secret of Leicester City's success / doping thread merged

Will be interesting to see what stories develop around Leicester after their truly incredible title win this season.

Don't know about Serie A in the 80s and 90s, but tbh the two examples you raise about La Liga are not really highly unlikely title winners. Whilst certainly not favourites, they were very strong sides with a lot of excellent skillful players (far better than Leicester's). Deportivo at that time were known as "Super Depor", weren't they? And historically Atleti has always been one of the largest clubs in Spain, along with the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao. One or two years before winning La Liga, they won the Europa League.

Now look at Leicester's rise to top this year. Pre-season they were the favourites to be relegated, which says something about their players' quality. Although they should get some major credits for their achievements this year, I can't help but question if by normal means one could perform such a miracle, particularly if you look at how physical their style is and how they seem to not want the ball for a majority of the match. Coupled with their incredible luck in the fitness department, I guess doubts would always remain in my mind, unless investigations prove their innocence.

So I'm really not that happy to see Leicester win the league, but then Spurs fans (at least the ones I met) aren't very likeable.
very well said.
Their pre season training camp in Austria must have been a hell of place.esp as they intially flew out there without a fucking manager.
And their pre season friendlies..they really did test them..
Lincoln City won 3-1
Mansfield Town drew 1-1
Burton Albion won 2-1
Rotherham Utd won 2-1
Birmingham won 3-2
the fortunate foxes(5000/1 dont you know) had some really tough pre season games, to get them ready for the assault and battery on the premier league.
on the 13th july they had a new manager..just 3 weeks before the start of the season...

on the 25th july canny clauudio was in the hot seat for the tricky match v Mansfield Town...apparently(according to their official website) this was a real tough physical match, just the sort of test the fortunate foxes would need before winning the league title.10 players got their first 60 mins of football of the pre season, and both leicester goalkeepers mark schwarzer and kasper had to make several smart saves to keep mighty mansfield at bay.the final score, was 1-1. phew that was close!!

21 days later and Reynard has smashed Westham 2-1 in their own back yard, the premier league "had never seen anything like it"

remarkable.

Are they still under investigation for FFP and they way they were promoted the other season? I have no hard evidence but something doesn't quite sit right with this title win

why would they be under investigation? they haven't done anything wrong. People just want them to of done something.

You need to look at some of their financial deals when they were in the championship hence my comment
