The Truth About Drugs in Football
I find the diving, spitting, slapping, swearing, cheating etc more of a problem than the idea that they might like a line or a joint occasionally.

If the drugs effect their fitness then that's their decision and their cross to carry.
The cheating and ungentlemanly behaviour argument has no bearing or relevance to this topic.

Its a players responsibility to behave in a professional manner, this means performing to the best of their ability, drugs will impact on that ability which makes it much more than an individual decision as it will effect the team and subsequently the quality of entertainment a supporter has a right to witness.

The cheating etc is relevant regarding the perception that footballers are role models.

I agree, a player should want to perform to the best of his abilities and I'd assume that that would mean them staying drug free but the occasional joint won't really have a negative impact on them.

I'm not advocating players shooting smack or being stoned on match days but in moderation I can't see it being a problem. A lot of players drink and smoke but as they are legal drugs people are happy to turn a blind eye.

If Messi wants to pop a pill once every 6 months when he has some time off, it's none of our business just as it's not my employers business what I get up to away from work.

When is Rio coming on................;-)

I can only assume that drugs do enhance the performance of footballers.

How the fuck else would anyone be able to make a compilation video of Samaras for YouTube?
