One of the tests is spelling ‘calibre’ correctly. Just because you are now a Yank, that is not sufficient excuse for adopting American spelling on BM.These TV quiz shows only take a contestant with a certain higher caliber of knowledge, not general riff raff……

Just watched an old episode of The Chase and it kicked off between the team.
The last contestant went up v The Sinhaman and he offered - £3000 as the lowest offer.
One of the contestants said come back and join us but not with minus £3000 and another one said the same. The team were on £31,000
The young lad stated he wanted to just get back and said he understood the team being reluctant to lose the £3000 but that’s his decision.
This contestant who looked like Brian Clough was livid and told the lad how he felt.
Bradley and the Sinhaman were gobsmacked but the bloke continued to air his disgust. He said he’d come here to win money not lose it.
The lad won through to the final and walked past the team and not one of them said or did anything with him. Bradley commented on that and the bloke said “I have nothing to say to the maggot” which stunned Bradley who replied, you “could win by one point which he wins for you” but the bloke wasn’t budging.
In the questions the bloke got a good number wrong and the lad a few right but they lost by about 6 seconds.
Even after that the bloke was not happy about what had gone on. Great viewing lol
