The UEFA Cup is Hughes' only hope

Get a grip everyone, we lost to a team that are strong contenders for the champions league and the premirer league, that had a fully fit squad worthy of beating anyone. We had a team with key players missing, and even the ones we had weren't 100% fit. Whats more it was at stamford bridge, they always fancied there chances against us, mainly because of our poor away record. So under the circumstances, i thought we did well today and were lucky not to concede even more goals.

Hughes has brought to together a descent team in just 6 mounths, and i don't think one member of the team has put a foot wrong, yes we've had bad results but who hasn't. So come on, get behind the team AND the manager.

Exactly!

If we don't win the UEFA cup, Hughes is out absolutely no question. If we win it, he'll have a chance of keeping his job but it's by no means guaranteed.

I don't know whether I want him out so that performances like that one today aren't repeated, or in so we get the continuity and stability we crave.

You are an absolute Nob!

Oh & I have to live in Yorkshire, originally from Tyldesley. Your remark is not an argument for deabate! T**t!

Today's match was another lesson & one that gives MH's team experience. That's somehting you haven't got......experience that is.

or would you like to meet me outside turnstile B2 next match mate!
In no way do i condone violence....but i'd like to see the one who wants City to lose meet Bluesuede just to see how this pans out.

Never have I seen a City manager divide opinion so starkly. There's little point debating Mark Hughes as both the IN and OUT camps are so entrenched.

FWIW, I'm a Hughes in man. What swung it for me was the Daily Mail interview in January along with some posts by forum members who offered player insights into what is being built behind the scenes. It was a story of laying foundations, of professionalism, a changing of mentality far removed from "the most expensive pub team in the world" as we were once called.

I don't dispute that our away form has been atrocious but equally our home form has been very good as has our European performances of late. We are a work-in-progress and I firmly believe that most of our weaknesses will be addressed in the Summer. Personally, I'd like to see us bring in the next Torres, Kaka, etc. We need hungry players who have a desire to become the very best and not just mercenaries who will be content to pick up their wages and get splinters in their @rse.

Anyway, we're all Blues. Istanbul we are coming...

im guessing you in the hughes out camp then

Turning things around? Really?

What happens if we finish outside the top 10 after improving on Svens 9th place team with £120m worth of players?

It's unfortunate for Hughes that since the close of Jauary he has 'still' not been able to put out 'his' side on a consistent basis and have a full complement of players to select from.

Today he was without three of his signings in De Jong, Kompany and Bellamy - prior to that he lost SWP for three games and Petrov is STILL out.

There is no doubting however after the performances this season against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal that we are looking more like a top 4 side.

There has been definite progress in performances - particularly over the second half of 2008 - and we are an infinitely better side than last season.

If we can't get Mourinho then I see no alternative I would rather have than Hughes - we need to keep the stability and steady progress we have seen - not go back to the drawing board.

Whats up? Did we lose?

I'm guessing by the Hughes out comments, we must have lost.

I don't remember reading any Hughes out threads for, let me think now...a week at least.

Possibly two weeks, if that's when we lost our last match.

We are at the moment six points above the relegation zone. Last season we finished 19 points above relegation. How anyone can call that "turning things around" is beyond me.

What a fuckin' surprise. Shaundiickov starting a post about getting rid of Hughes after we've lost a match..

I would say there is the same debate on Hughes each week, win, lose or draw.

Just started by different people, thats all.

I get really annoyed with people like you! why are you threatening this poster just because he has a opinion you don't agree with. No where in his comments does he suggest violence to you,yet you offer him out behind the turnstiles.
You need to grow up and go and support Millwall where people like you seek to congregate.
Whether you like Mark Hughes or not, is a debate, not a war. So get a life please!

It's not often that I get angry, but you really are taking the p**S
