The undroppables?

Every single player in the squad is back in training. That's unheard-of at this point in the season, for us especially and maybe the league. Testament to the medical staff and of course Dr Cugat. The players obviously work hard too keeping cardio up. Well done all.

Now the attentions turn to the big CL/PL matches that they all want to play in. Do you agree when all fit this is Peps only dilemma and which squad do you go with in a one off need to win game?

The 8 nailed ons (think most agree with with these)
Ederson
Walker
Otamendi
Mendy
Fernandinho
KDB
Silva
Sane

The 3 positions left:
Aguero v Jesus
Raheem v Bernardo
Laporte v Stones v Kompany

And think we have 3 sub spaces..
Bravo nailed on
Then Foden v Danilo v Delph v Gundogan v Zinchenko

Wow. This is tough.

Everyone is both playable and droppable IMO. Too many variables to say otherwise

Earlier in the season it was sterling over B Silva every game. But Silva has improved since then and chipping in with goals. Raz had gone off the boil before being injured, so it's difficult to choose now.

I think I'd go for Sterling as his electric pace has caused defences a lot of problems.

Still nowhere near Agüero’s level. He’s a partner or back up for Agüero, maybe different in 18m time.
Closer than that.

Everyone is both playable and droppable IMO. Too many variables to say otherwise
We know from journalists in Germany and Spain, you can never predict a Pep XI. I tried it for our first 6 games. It's impossible. Just a bit of guesswork at that best XI.

Bravo, Stones, Laporte, Bernardo, Gundogan, Jesus, Danilo.

That's the 18 if everyone is healthy. The only real question is Danilo or Delph. And the answer is Danilo coz he can play both RB and LB.

Good to see Bluemoon still manages to find ways to have the “are you mad? current player X is twice as good as current player Y!” argument even in the face of tremendous success attained—and quality exhibited—by our entire squad.

Don’t ever change, you’re perfect as you are.

Two centre halfs and a full back on the bench ?

One of those CH's should be replaced with a midfielder

You wouldn't drop Ederson, Walker, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero in a one off.

Every other position has an alternative that wouldn't weaken the team.
Wide players - 2 of Sane, Sterling or Bernardo
Left Back - Mendy or Delph
Centre Back - Any 2 of the 4

Mendy is coming back from a big injury, so is not undroppable at all, nowhere near. Delph and Oli have done a fantastic job at LB between them. Mendy will have to earn his place by proving both his fitness and his ability - that's not even taking into account the fact that we won't want to rush him back.

I wonder if the left side will depend on the opposition. Delph allows Sane more freedom to stay upfield. We haven't seen how Mendy and Sane will work together on that side.

Mendy isn’t undropable. Defensively he isn’t a good as people think/hope. Attacking wise he’s fantastic and puts a brilliant ball in.
Its also gona take him a while to get back to what he can be.
This season, even though hes now back with 2 months left, he wont be anywhere near what he can be so hopefully people will be patient. He is a big unit and it will take him time.
Totally agree

Surely the personnel and system of our opponents will make Pep lean one way or another. Horses for courses.

I think we have only have 2 undroppables in our best starting 11, Ederson and Fernandinho. The rest including De Bruyne and Walker(arguable) can be alternated as we have a healthy squad balance to rotate without much of a drop in quality

Raheem over B.Silva every time for me.

---------------Ederson
---Kompany Laporte Otamendi
Walker--------------------------Mendy
---De Bruyne Fernandinho-Silva
-----------Aguero---Jesus

Bravo, Danilo, Stones, Gundogan, Bernardo, Sterling, Sané

Is an option too.
