Exactly that,for a long long time in a place without the holiday camp luxuries.

He was part of the Thames Valley Police Roads Policing section - weren't they the ones on Road Wars a few years back? If so he probably watched them on that and had got his dream job the poor sod. Such a waste of a young mans future.

We need a Police Force that has both the resources and the ability to deal with these twats - the right people,with the right attributes,need to be attracted.In order to do so we need to stop playing at recruitment and award our officers a wage and a standard of living their sacrifice and dedication deserves.

Double manned patrols,more officers in the public eye,an increase in armed response units and tactical teams,would be a start.

Zero tolerance is the only way.

so none then - your aims and suggestions are the correct one but just about everybody responds to that question with " I pay enough tax". Well not if you want properly funded services clearly. Quick Google search reveals

In Scotland starting salaries are slightly higher at £24,204, rising to £38,001 after about ten years' service.

They want graduates but -

According to the High Fliers report, "The Graduate Market in 2019", the median starting salary for UK graduates in 2019 is expected to be £30,000 for the fifth consecutive year.

You get a degree why start on sub £20k if you can expect £30k elsewhere?
