What makes you think that society is increasingly violent and wayward. I can’t remember a time when there weren’t cunts around being cunts. It’s absolutely true that thanks to our former PM police numbers are massively down and that needs to be addressed but the crime stats don’t back up your assertion. In fact overall crime is actually down but the big problem is that the number of convictions is down by more than the fall in the crime rate, which is a direct result of the reduction in police numbers and the underfunding since 2010. That’s what needs to be addressed and it’s not because there’s more crime, it’s because criminals are more likely to get away with it.

You may well have a good point.I see it as a chicken and egg scenario,although perhaps it's more sausage and egg the way the thread is going......

Me and a PC were once having a few beers together, discussing stuff. He went through the list of paperwork that he has to do for every arrest from start to finish and it was eye watering. Also, their IT systems don't work and keep crashing which leads to them having to use pen and paper then replicate the work later which seems a pain in the arse

Yep,it's soul destroying as well as a huge ,unnecessary,waste of time and resources.It also leaves less officers on the street and your colleagues more vulnerable.

I see loads of police in the drive thru at my local McDonalds so there are plenty of police out in the community so to speak.

Maybe instead of providing additional funding, the Government could just put motivational messages for officers on McDonald’s packaging instead. Seems to be their approach to crime.
