A police officer was killed when he was "dragged along by a vehicle" while attending a reported burglary.Thames Valley Police said 10 males, aged between 13 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of murder

A 13 year old.......wtf??

How long do we put up with filth doing what the fuck they want, and controlling our streets?

Something has to be done, and quickly.
Controlling our streets? Lol.

All new police officers have to be graduates now. They can either enter with a degree or they can do one while they are in the job and as a condition of having it. Their pay is rubbish in that case, but the job will fund the studies

Pissing in the wind, red tape, duplication, unnecessary bureaucracy and a lack of respect/not feeling valued are the main concerns/factors where retention is concerned.

Me and a PC were once having a few beers together, discussing stuff. He went through the list of paperwork that he has to do for every arrest from start to finish and it was eye watering. Also, their IT systems don't work and keep crashing which leads to them having to use pen and paper then replicate the work later which seems a pain in the arse

It wasn't meant as a watershed moment, more an incredibly relevant time to bring up the topic as surely, even to the most ignorant/blinkered of individuals,it must be obvious that our Police service is overstretched and unable to cope with the demands of an increasingly violent and wayward society.

Its reached a point where decent everyday folk have had enough.
What makes you think that society is increasingly violent and wayward. I can’t remember a time when there weren’t cunts around being cunts. It’s absolutely true that thanks to our former PM police numbers are massively down and that needs to be addressed but the crime stats don’t back up your assertion. In fact overall crime is actually down but the big problem is that the number of convictions is down by more than the fall in the crime rate, which is a direct result of the reduction in police numbers and the underfunding since 2010. That’s what needs to be addressed and it’s not because there’s more crime, it’s because criminals are more likely to get away with it.

Policemen and policewomen, for all of their heroics, are also human beings who require sustenance in the form of edible food on occassion

Round here they go to Lidl for baked goods - they don't get paid enough to get McDonalds. Since the local Police station was "reclassified" - ( closed ) they nickname Lidl the "Police canteen" - even more so now its open until 10pm.
