- Our ACON returnees will give us momentum
- Barca will dispose of us in the UCL and we'll only have the league to tilt at
- Pellers will cast his mind back to what won us the title last year and pick the same team for 5, 6, 7, 8 games in a row
- The league is so shit we could easily win 10 on the spin

I love the optimism so what I'll say is if we are still only 7 points behind at the worst after Wednesday at Stoke I'll jump on the roundabout thinking we've half a chance.

If it's 9 or 10 points after Wednesday I think it will be time to make sure we finish second or third, focus on Europe, and start casting an eye on next season and if Chelsea do implode make sure we are in a position to punish them.

I'd also start the evaluation of players who have under performed this season, and if we can identify why they have under performed. depending on the outcome of that evaluation depends whether they stay or are shipped out to make way for new blood.

Oh and if possible it would be great blood some kids.

If we won all 14 remaining games, we'd have a chance. But we are not doing that, and Chelsea aren't losing 4 games from here.

To get to 80 points we need to win at least 9 out of 14. I think that looks a tall order the way we are playing.

It's going to be a monumental ask. We'd need to win 12 of our remaining games at least. We have the quality to do so, but if we continue playing how we are, we could end up third.

An excellent summary. Disappointing but there it is.

Now, let's move on. It would be more palatable if the team now performs, gets a few goals and finishes second with momentum into next season, which is not so long away without a tournament in the summer [about 10 or 12 weeks?].

It would be fantastic to progress in the CL but, in my view, the opposition are just too strong at a time when the lads have essentially tread water for two months. But, hey ho, at least the team can give it a go against Messi et alia. Fuck Chelsea, the Rags and whoever else. Time to focus on what we do and do it well. Everything will flow from that...

Not a chance unfortunately.

If Chelsea carry on as they are (and there's no real reason that they won't) they'll end up with 88 points. That would leave us only being able to drop 3 more points in the remaining games.

yes we will!! Belief is vital - so is the performance from now 'til May- it can be done and we will.
Tricky game v stokey - get past that with three points and it's is on.
Chavs have not had injuries really nor suspensions - plus fighting too many fronts and this will stack up later on . I hope Maureen gets so stressed you can feel it!!
