Two things here. Why did the care home call the police?? A frail 95 year old woman on a walking frame with a knife. Jesus if nobody can take it off her they shouldn't be working there. As for the police......no words, shooting her with a fucking taser....really??? Utterly despicable.

My Mother had bad dementia, I know what it's like. Clare was most likely not holding that knife to attack the cop but for her defense against "bad people".. My Mother imagined there were horrible people laughing at her and threatening her quite often towards the end. I suspect Clare was going through the same or similar thing.

The cop has done shit before it seems. He's a big bully kind of twat and a useless cop. But as you say the staff should have thrown a blanket over her and grabbed the knife. She was a weak as fuck 43kg and probably shaking with fear of the nasty evil imagined people she was defending herself against.

The chief of NSW Police is getting a hammering here for not releasing the body cam video (cops protecting cops?) and yet they don't mind releasing video when they do something they regard as good.

This upset me the first time I heard about it, now the poor woman has died even more so. It's something you read or hear about and can't comprehend it as it's so awful and a ludicrous overreaction by everyone involved. He has to be charged with manslaughter.

Yes, I agree. The world has gone mad. A complete over reaction to a situation which has led to the death of a 95 tear old lady.
