Just saw the news about Timothy West on the 6 o'clock news. Shame, he was a great actor. Such a huge body of work he's left behind.
Bradley Hardaker in Brass, "I'm worried about all the cotton dust getting into the worker's lungs. We are losing 10 bales a month". R.I.P
It's one of those sad facts that when a couple have been so long together and both of their health deteriorated, when one goes, the other soon followsI feel it won’t be long until she joins him.
RIP
It's a mystery to me why that's not been reshown over and over. He, Barbara Ewing and it were absolutely brilliant.

That happened when my 50 year old sister died last year. Our Mum has multiple issues, including dementia, and she didn't remember the news within minutes of being told (if it had been left to me I wouldn't have even told her; it was my niece that did).I heard an interview earlier with James Hogg who co-wrote Prue and Me with Tim. He said something that was good and at the same time bad. He had befriended the couple and when Tony Livesey said sadly Prunella Scales was now left behind and Hogg said that Prunella after 10 years of vascular dementia had so poor a memory she will not be able to mourn Tim as she won't remember him - I listened to that and I won't lie the eyes filled up.
My grandad’s wife had dementia for about 5 years and not long after she went into a home my grandad died aged 90. She was quite far gone so wasn’t even told about him but she then died 4 months later. It's one of those sad facts that when a couple have been so long together and both of their health deteriorated, when one goes, the other soon follows

Sometimes dementia can be a blessing.
Sounds very powerful. And so true/poignant.saw a great short drama on TV years ago starring George Cole. Guy on a Saturday afternoon left with his father-in-law who had dementia. Throughout George kept asking "where are the girls?" and the son-in-law said"they have gone shopping Dad".
Guy had a brainwave and nipped to a local hardware shop (it was that long ago) and bought a dictafone. He recorded his answer and when asked he hit play and just watched Grandstand.
When his wife and Mother-in-law comes home he says he has the answers and shows them what he bought. Mother-in-law says " Oh Mark do you think you are the first one to think thats the answer - opened a drawer and showed several types of recorder lobbed in there .............. roll credits. It was very well done.
