Fucking cancer.

Ive just been browsing his Instagram. He was 40 with 3 young girls, married his long-term partner this month. Last Sept he posted about feeling unwell and having tests. Images of how he was and how cancer ravished his body in such a short time is quite upsetting.

Rip Dave. I think it’s my age but the people are dying I grew up watching, like Dave, King Colin, Franny, and lots of others.

I’ve actually been there when 3 relatives have died in front of me. It’s very sad

Far too young. Far too sad. My condolences. Lovely video found on YouTube. I questioned how Bobby Power had passed away. Bizarrely Google through a link of his namesake passing away in USA. Wanted to be prove it was fake news. Because I can't handle death lately, especially of those who I grew up with or seen on shows and movies that were my age. It is tragic. Life really is precious. My mum met Dave and Si in The Olde Boars Head in Middleton as they were filming something about old pubs in Manchester.

Apparently they were absolute gents, talking to the locals, having pictures taken ect.

They even bought everyone in the pub a drink!!

RIP Dave

As a Middletonian until I was 31 I frequented the Boars Head. Started off coz it was a place that we could get a pint of Websters underage having left the youth club in the adjacent Methodist Church then went through the re-furb and into JWL ownership and still a good pint.

Ah Dave, rest in peace son. I watched you and Si just the other night and could see what that bastard disease had done to you. I wasn’t surprised to hear the news last night. I always enjoyed watching you both, two working class lads having a ball bringing us your take on great food. Truly saddened at this news, a lovely guy and a great host. You will be missed.
