The "which famous person died today" thread

A broadcasting legend. Listened to his last show a few weeks back out of pure respect for the guy. It was sad listening knowing that he knew he didn't have long left. RIP
Listened to him for most of my life, I've managed to get his last show downloaded for keeps while it was still on the Sounds app, have already re-listened a few times, he played loads of his own favourites that day, no requests. Not normally affected by 'celebrity deaths' but Johnnie really did provide the soundtrack of my life on his shows.
The lockdown shows he did with his wife Tiggy were something special at the time, they were a truly dedicated couple, both nursing each other through tough times.

Rest easy Johnnie.

Sad news, was a big Osmonds fan when I was growing up and had the good fortune to see their show at Belle Vue in 1973 and, much later, in Branson, Missouri.

Almost slipped by unnoticed and, knowing how close the brothers were, it must be a big loss.

RIP Wayne you Crazy Horse!!

I remember them turning up at the Mormon church opposite the Royal Thorn pub in Wythenshawe and getting mobbed once word got out they were there.

This one shocked me.

Met him at the height of his fame. Came across as a bit of a nob. Then I saw that BBC documentary about him a few years ago and my opinion changed. A very damaged man with self awareness of his past and actions. He found love and seemed as happy as he could be.

Shocked me too. Very clever with words and obviously talented.

he also tried to help by self medicating with alcohol and became an alcoholic and went cold turkey only to have a seizure and didn't want to come off it - as has been said a damaged but hugely talented man - hope he has found his peace - RIP
