Jimmy Cliff also starred, as well as sang, in the film "The harder they come" in 1972. This was the very 1st film to be wholly made by Jamaica and he did a very good acting job as a singer caught up in the narcotics trade. It was also a wider international hit.

have heard a couple of people on the radio today who met him in venues where he was gigging. Both times they excitedly told their mates he was on and they said " Jimmy who?" - then he gets on stage and bang, bang, bang hit after hit and the response was "Oh thats Jimmy Cliff !!"
